Wheel Came Off After I Picked Up from Dealer

This thread has been on my mind so seeing as how it was time to rotate tires I did so and took note of my spacers. Everything looks fine and there’s plenty of thread on the lug holding down the spacer. However, in the interest of safety my wife still wants to ditch them so I guess I have to look at the move into 17 inch wheels… my arm hurts from all the twisting.

1 vote for Dakar zeros. If we could get the Enkeis they put on the Dakar Rally landcruisers those would be top of my list, but, unobtanium sadly.

Do the Dakar Zero's come in different offsets?

I feel like it would be blasphemous to not go with a bronze wheel on a HE… the Dakarzeros are white or black, as far as I can tell.

As I recall they do. I was considering them a few years ago and what offset to get was a bit of a debate.

I’ll look further, I’m open to options. 25 offset should put me about where I’m currently at, max load limit is another consideration for me since I’m towing in a cruiser with a slight obesity problem….2650 is my minimum.

They come in Matte or Glossy Bronze... special order.

I am not a big fan of spacers either. I will say I’ve had Spidertrax spacers on multiple LC’s without issues over thousands of miles. Of course seeing this wheel falling off, makes me nervous to add them on my new to me 200. I just can’t give up the HE wheels just yet. This is a good reminder to check them at every rotation/oil change and making it a point to physically watch them check torque specs. I believe it’s 97lbs., correct?

No, 97 ft-lbs is not correct for the Spidertrax spacers:

You should install the spacers and torque to 130 ft-lbs with thread locker, and then check torque periodically at 120 ft-lbs.

Thank you! What is the torque spec. on the heritage wheel? I don't know where I got 97lbs. from but thank you for the info.

Since it’s been 3 years since I originally installed my spacers I had forgotten these instructions. This really illustrates the potential for issues when taking your cruiser in for any type of work where removing the spacers is involved.

97 ft-lbs is a correct torque for the factory alloy wheels on my 2013 LC200, and I believe it is the same for your heritage wheels - you can always check in your Owners Manual, like I did:
