fuel pump

Jeff,
you ever fooled with your fuel pump, carb any? I am going to have to tackle mine soon and am looking for any advice/do it this way/dont do that.

I have an electric pump and weber and im going back to mechanical and a rebuilt carb that PO bought from Mark offroad.....I saw where you commented on the truck in a discussion from last year on what the heck was wrong with it:grinpimp:

Diagnosis was fuel pump since she was starving for gas....:whoops:

Im definitely going to get a Hell for Stout from CCOT for that catle guard replacement...you like yours?

cheers:beer:

I run a Weber with the stock pump and a cheap regulator. Never been a problem. If you need a really good guy to take it to then I can hook you up with the local "when all else fails" carb guru. Ask Chris. He can get you going right.

What cattle guard? Do you have an old style ARB bumper?

when you run out of money, you will be cured.

Jeff when I get back from the beach Saturday Im going to pull it apart and see if its beyond my ability. I am almost positive that if I simply drop in my mechanical pump and remove the electric garbage on it that she will run much better. IF that isn't it im still a step closer to factory specs with the mechanical pump and then can replace the weber with the rebuilt carb I have in the parts pile.

will DEFINITELY take you up on a good point of contact for the install.....pm me please....gracious:p

Myron = Carb Whisperer

Yeah he owns Performance Outboard and he once owned Perforamnce Import. One of the best in town on Toyotas. He just got tired of working on cars and decided to do the boat thing. He gets hungry in the winter and will do some small car work. He fixed Chris up and now his has never run better. Holla when you need his number and I'll hook you up.

outstanding! :D

you active duty navy pilot? I was army airborne, now full time guard

I haven't seen a pic of your new 40, more specifically didn't see it in this thread. I'll pass on your bumper. I'd only be interested if it was an old style ARB.

Nope, not active duty. Retired for many years, almost ready for a nursing home, unless GT lets me move in with him.

I flew CH-46 Sea Knights. MEDEVAC and rescue ops, was attached to Marine Corps amphibious units most of the time...back in the day.

BTW, welcome to the FJ40 illness. You'll be pleased with the HFS bumper. Rugged as hell.

Lee

Outstanding, well thanks for your service.

I LOVE the FJ 40 illness...the wife...not so much, but she blessed off on buying it so she helped dig her on grave on that one!!

Fine looking truck, except for that fugly front bumper. Looks like a Smittybilt tube bumper with an add-on grill guard. HFS will fix that issue for ya. When you order, don't forget to ask for the special Grogan discount. :D

Get the HFS bumper for the Warn 8274 winch. The 8274 is THE FJ40 winch.

Grogan discount..........:meh: whats that? (remember Im new!!!)

What to do about the cancer???

So what would yall do about the cancer below the passenger door in the picture above? it doesn't look bad here, but it's bubbled up pretty good...is POR 15 a good option and some spray paint that matches the green for now or just wait and cut it out when I have money and time?
