I'm convinced the 2UZ is the best gas engine Toyota ever has or will make and might be the best engine on the road.
I have a 5.7... It's an awesome engine. I still think that the 4.7 is one of the best engines Toyota ever built.
Time will tell if the aluminum construction holds up as well as the iron 2UZ. I'm speaking from a durability and reliability standpoint. Sure, the 5.7 has more power.
Didn't Paul May of Equipt recently blow his engine in his super built 99 LC? I think he was around 250k miles.
When I was looking to buy an LC, I was specifically looking for a 97 model. But then I saw this LX470 on CL that caught my eye. I talked to the owner and he pretty much talked me out the 97, I didn't buy his but I started looking for a hundy. This guy told me his family owned 4 hundy's and one of them had a little over 600k miles....later I found out he was (still is) a member here. Wish I still had the text messages...it coulda been a typo though.
