nice transalp

I didn't know that vespa did single side swingarms

That's only one Transalp. The other is the Yamaha version, the Tenéré, another awesome bike that we don't get in the U.S. :bang:

 right you are!

OK guys, its not a transalp but the big brother 750cc Africa Twin, I don't think it ever made it to the states, which is a great shame as its a great bike... Very popular with overlanders as they are incredibly strong and reliable. Sadly they are no longer made......

Mine is from 1992 with 86.000kms it took me 8000 kms to Jordan with only my after market rack breaking...

750cc V Twin, Big tank, plenty of suspension travel, double front discs, strong chassis - JAP reliability.

I needed a airhawk and sheep skin as the saddle is crap.. :)

Yep, The other bike is a Yamaha Tenéré 600 cc single, from 1989.. its the last of a bread. Its a development of the 80's icon the XT500... Again another overlanders classic, they go for ever....

The vespa is a simple 50CC scooter, made in 1975 - gutless classic Italian transport...

Cheers Matt

PS I'll get around to writing up my journey....

Sweet bikes guys. Apart from wheeling, bikes are my other passion.

For some reason, my tastes in bikes are the polar opposite of Cruisers.

My current ride:

2006 Ducati monster S2R 1000

Are you guys at Great Smoky Mountains National Park? We were there in September and it looks like one of the pull offs on the trail.

I also had a '99 996 race bike that I bought and lovingly restored every detail of. Sort of the same that I'm doing to my 60

All the ducs I have ever owned are in this pic:

We sure were. We bought the bike in philly and rode it down to Texas through the BRP and the dragon. We took a slight detour and ended up in Colorado before we got home. ;)

This is us at the dragon

Thanks man! They sure are.

We had so much fun that we ended up doing the same trip twice in one summer. We went back the month after that but with kneesliders

That was at the Hawks Nest outside of Port Jervis, NY. I have done parts of the BRP and will be heading down it again in June and over to Nashville, TN to run Natchez Trace. From there I will head west to Santa Fe, NM and up over the Million Dollar Highway to Denver. I love that area of the country (CO, NM, AZ, CO) and I have covered most of it already. I will be going this year with some friends that have never ridden that part so I am more than happy to take this trip again as it is well worth it.

Nice, I did the Million Dollar Highway last summer. Ouray is amazing and shouldn't be missed. I'll be doing it again for Ducati in the Rockies this year. Be sure not to miss the Skyline Dr.

As a matter of fact, what you're describing is exactly what my route was over the summer. If you want any tips let me know. There is a write up of our trip here:

El Matador's and Desmolu's most excellent adventure. Writeup Finished!

The in depth write-up starts on page 14

those ducatis are sweet, but I have to say that the passenger seat doesn't look too comfy!
 to your SO!
