@beno

Onur, going back a ways on your posts. For the heater delete I got 4 of the body plugs. did you use a silicone to seal them up better, or just pop them in?

thanks,

K

@FJ60Cam Onur can set you up with one. You will probably need some 3M body seam sealer to replace the rotten sealer. Once you squirt some of that in the 25 or 30 spots it needs it, then pop in your new insulator you will be truly amazed at how tight and firm that hood feels when you close it. Not too cheap but not too expensive. Worth every $$ and takes almost zero time to install.

Onur, can you post a part number and price for the hood insulator?

The idiot I am, can can someone tell me why this insulator would be worth putting on my hood, other than it was there when it left the factory? It's been gone since I bought the truck. What is its purpose and will it make the truck run better? Just curious. Thanks
Jeff

i got a new one...not sure why to be honest - mainly i think because it was still available. Don't think it really does anything....doesn't muffle the sound at all. Remember someone saying it was mainly in case there was ever an engine fire...though I don't know the validity to that.

If i was doing it again would have skipped on this one and put the $ elsewhere.

I got a feeling that picture was taken in Wyoming although one would not know by the weather!

An epic truck gets even more epic.

Are we at start up yet? You still have a chance to get ahead of FJ60Cam!

Nah. Not ready yet.

I am installing a new ARB compressor, re-running the ARB wires, re-running the 2M wires, re-running the stereo system wires, installing an SLCFJ62 junction box, then running Johnson power poles for the fridge install as well. So, the nitty-gritty time consuming stuff.

Waiting on body parts to return from painter to reinstall.

Then need to cut rear cross member, clean up framerails, POR-15 and install rear bumper.

Maybe by March?

Are we racing to a start up or an actual drive? What's the prize? Winner takes both trucks?

What's up with your cross member? Do you have the earlier style?

Well, looks like my custom rear bumper is on it's way.

Very stoked on getting this fine unit. Will post pics and specs once it is in my hands.

I'll be doing some modding to it myself before powdercoat and install.

Hmmm.. Wyoming LP....I also see the corner of a "grocery getter" AKA FZJ80....I think we all know where this is going. Onur, I can't wait to see your finished project...thing is coming along nicely.

Cutting it off for bumper install. Needs to be chopped.

D'oh! I thought you were talking about the transmission crossmember. Cool, can't wait to see it!

So you're at the point I like to call "90% done, with only 90% to go".
