I'm looking to buy a vehicle for my oldest daughter. Not really in any hurry.
Here are my prioritys:
1) Driver air bag
2) Toyota
3) 4x4 or AWD
4) $$ spent is realative to what it is but want it to be reasonable.....its a kid.
5) I'm not overly concerned about MPG's because we live in a small town and school is only a few miles from home.

Lydia (daughter) really wanted a 62 and so did I but Mama kind of put a stop to that because of the lack of airbag. I didnt agree at first but I am coming around cuz it is a kid driving it. I told the wife she is safer in a 62 up against a honda civic with airbag. I dont know if its true but it felt truthful when it came out my pie hole.
I totally support Lydia's taste, no bling, a little crusty is OK, 4x4 and something non cookie cutter.
I know the criteria somewhat limits us but what do ya think?

4Skinner or 80.

RAV4 is a great car too, but really overpriced in the used market.

62 is nowhere near as safe as a Civic/Accord/Camry. Full frame, no crumple zones, no air bags, no anti-lock, no side impact protection. It does have weight and weight wins as long as you hit something smaller. Trees don't give a s*** about weight.

If you get her a 1st gen Tundra or a Taco you would own a truck. That's always a bonus.

That makes feel better about not giving Jenn the $1,500 she wanted for her 62.
I pushed the Taco idea at first because I have always wanted one plus i dont have a truck now. But she doesnt want a truck. As long as her taste are grounded like they currently are I will try to honor them.
RAV4's would of been out because of price plus she thinks they are sissyfied.
When did they start putting airbags in the 4 skinners?

I know they have them in 97.

And I know of one...

Everything's for sale...

Actually, now that I think about it-
We have a 2001 limited, heated leather at work with around 180K. I know it needs tires, front brakes, charcoal canister, and some misc small things. It has been there since july or so, and cash would definitely talk on that one. Possibly in the range of $4000

I don't know if that price is out of your range or not, but if interested, contact me and not the dealership.

3rd gen 4runner or fzj80.

Give the daughter the Odyssey.

Buy the wife a 200 series.

Or you could get either of them a Highlander, except my wife just got one, and as I'm sure you are unaware, there can be only one Highlander.

I actually brought that up and my wife shot it down because she loves her 155K mile mini van...seriously. Her choice so...."OK Honey!"
Just put a new trany in it too so its staying around a while longer.

Jerome, seems fair $$ for the condition etc. Will keep it in mind. Looks like they didn't pay much attention when hooking up trailers.

If this van's a rockin'!!!!

Get her an Scion IQ, they're cheap, safe, and nobody's getting laid in one of those!:grinpimp:

For my whole teenage time, my parents had a conversion van with an electronically reclining bench to what must have been a full bed..... It was awesome (for about 20-45 sec....;)).

You can rub one out in 20-45 seconds? Damn thats some focus. Why do you need to recline the seat to pull that off, just sit....

Todds was better...

I tried.... It was 630am and I was on a pace bus so thats two knocks against my wit..

Your head should have been on a swivel, with your back against the wall!
