This is on the block on the drivers side of my F engine. Its got 2 springs and a metal rod pictured at the far right that used to be connected to something but is now just resting freely on a bolt.
What is this?

So is that someething that was connected to the pedal at one time or the stock carb or what? I guess I don't have to have it seeing that it's been disconnected for 22 years.
Used to be connected to a factory single barrel carb.
If you can remove it don't throw it out, always someone looking to go back to stock.
