And if so, where can I find one?

My truck had the evap components removed by the PO and I'm trying to restore everything back as it should be. I've got a new fuel separator and have it plumbed to the charcoal canister... but I don't have one of these, nor do I know what it is. A review of the exploded view diagram on SOR doesn't help much either.

What is this sucker? My guess is either a filter or check valve?

For sure a check valve. Likely still available from Toyota. Send a PM to Beno with a link to this thread.

Alternatively you could probably just go to the auto parts store and get a generic one. Ask for a fuel vapor check valve and see what they come up with.

I'm not sure if the fact that it's got fuel vapor in it matters. A mini-truck uses an external check valve for the brake booster that might work.

You want the system to be able to recover fumes from the tank/separator, but you don't want any recirculation when it's not running.

Google image search on that part number turns up this:

It also turns up a price that will get you looking for a used one on the parts-wanted classifieds.

That's it--a check valve for the tank vapors, that is piped into the charcoal canister--not really a TRUE check valve(since it will pass flow in either direction)- but it does restrict flow back to the vapor separator and tank-not sure where you could get a new one, but Beno is a good choice, as JohnnyC and Fast Eddie have posted
