I have both option to use on a new FJ45 restoration. But cant find a simple answer on the exact difference in terms of performance. As far as I have been able to read, there is no significant difference! Is this correct?

The 3F is a de-stroked 2F, so you gain some rpm on the top end, but lose some torque on the bottom end. It was a stop-gap solution for larger Cruisers that needed more highway speed, until the 1-FZ series was ready to roll out. How significant a difference 7mm of stroke makes, is a matter of personal opinion I suppose. It's not night-and-day.

Many thanks for your help, very clear and makes sense. I also run and FJZ-80 with stoke 3F carbureted engine and what you are describing in terms of highway speed is exactly what I experience. Tnx again.
