I passed my annual "safety inspection" and renewed my registration.

I love that here in the UK I'm not obliged to get an annual test because it's a "classic vehicle"...
In turn, I take on personal responsibility to maintain a roadworthy vehicle.
I also pay no road tax, and no low emission zone tariff in the city (despite being a big dirty diesel). Happy days

This is the last year they are doing it in Texas. Most states have dropped the requirement.
But I agree, it's a point of pride.

A lot of US places have figured out all that inspection BS is just licensed corruption. CO2 is like 460 parts per million part of air. Man made/caused CO2 is like 3% of that - so we will spend needless billions to reduce 10% of that. Meanwhile wild range and forest fires pollute the air so thick at times I can't see my neighbors house a block away. How many tons of TNT are they using a day in the Ucrime - guess what that all turns to CO2 and NOx. What the gas mileage of the M1A? Abrams 3 gallons per mile F16 in full AB isn't any better. And the volcanoes got us out of the ice ages - note plural and all that happened before the dinosaurs started driving SUV

I had a cool feeling this morning. Am headed to work in my FJ40 on the freeway at 60 MPH and the fuse to the lights blows. Luckily for me my commute is 5 miles!

Stood her up and raptured her belly in light Olive. Will get the fuel tank and lines mounted before putting her back on the stand for final coat of prime and paint and then onto frame. Debating putting raptor on tub floors!? Not sure. Any thoughts?

Fusible link on the battery positive is desirable because it doesn't burn, it just melts. A wet-cell-battery (conventional type), discharging 20-amps or whatever, is capable of out-gassing hydrogen. Fusible link is available at your favorite automotive store; you might have to measure it yourself. Measure the wire going to and from the harness, and select a gauge smaller for fusible link. They often cite Coolerman for a source.

Finally tested it on a long journey, covering almost 800km. I'm very satisfied with how well everything works

Good luck at the show. I have loved your photos of the 40 on the beach since I first saw them. Always so well composed, focused and the contrast detail despite the light colors is always crisp…

In NJ which sucks for every other costs, my '79 is registered as historic, no inspection, I just email them pics to prove it's original with no mods, 25 bucks per year, and 350 for insurance.

Back on the 45 again this week, had some rotted portions of the frame right at the end where it arches back up for the rear axle, I decided to mimic the factory section that I cut out as close as possible, still need to cut the holes for the Allen bolts going into the frame and spring hangers

I feel like it’s a fine line. Maybe if I don’t hang maxx tracks off of it and a mini shovel I’ll be ok.

Installed 5125s, fixed my parking brake warning light, tried to fix my cruiser lean by swapping front leafs which absolutely didn’t work. Took the dog for a drive and walk by the river.

Got the first stage of my pop out side windows complete. The are only lexan right now. Have to make sure all is good before having glass cut and drilled. Hopefully it works. We shall see.
