I switched over to the 40 until my new 35 splined axle shafts arrive from being cut & splined for the :pig: :bounce2: So, I've already started fabbin up the hybrid axle & the lower brackets for the links. The brackets will be fully boxed & yes, they're bent to match the angle of my lowers. You can see how one bracket is longer than the other. It's a redesigned y-link suspension.

Got the new (to me) SM465 prepped for installation. Assembled the NP203 GRB to the LC T-case, and finished detaching the body in preparation to measure for the lift I am going to need to clear the new drive-train.

Also started cleaning up the garage now that I am starting to use up the parts that were scattered everywhere :rolleyes:

Pulled the engine/tranny/tc out today with the new $150 engine hoist from Harbour Freight.Pretty much did it solo,I had the wife drive my T100& with a tow strap attached to the front,we let the 40 roll back a little at a time.Driveway is just a little sloped,so it was perfect to let the 40 roll slowly back off with the hoist still holding the huge load.I took the caster wheels off the hoist cause of the slope& asphalt driveway.So it was stationary,worked good.
Then I cleaned up the 3-sp.tranny& TC,bell housing with some engine cleaner.Used a 5 in one putty knife scraped off all the old gunk,then buffed with a wire wheel brush on my 4"grinder,worked really good.
Tommorow I will take off tranny/tc from the old F&see whats up with the clutch,never done this before,so I am just taking my time.Any pointers would be great!Prob.do the rear main seal on the new(good running when pulled for a V-8 swap)to me F engine(it was free!)
Just trying to do a low buck swap,thats way I am keeping the old 3-sp. also.I am converting it to a floor shift along with the TC.Got the parts here on mud for cheap!Also got a rebuilt carb.from flash(it's not here yet!)thats ok,I am taking my time.Prob.going to need a new clutch,this 69 40 has been sitting for 8-years!!

Bought & Washed my New $1250.00 62. Removed the ski rack, getting ready to put the conn-ferr rack up today. Tore into my wrecked 60 some more getting ready to remove the engine for the transplant into another 60 that I have my eye on.
 
Got my transfer case assembled, punched a hole in the bottom last time out, aquired another case and switched the guts. I think a skid plate is in the works !!:doh::cheers:
 
Did the rear disc brake conversion, the rear lunchbox locker and fixed the ghetto fabbed SOA on the rear axle. Just waiting for my front to come back from the shop with a C-n-T so I can finish most of my mechanical work. In the meantime, I'll sort out the wiring issues.

took the top off the 40:) put new alt in the 55:frown: and inprocess of a timing chain replacement on the 82 truck:banana:

well i put my 45 up for sale,had interest,went out to get some pics this morning and couldnt go through with it,so back to the drawing board with what to move on

Wow. We sure get through a heck of lot in just one week!

Anyway here's my bit............... Decided to modify my towbar. Here it is before modifications: (Well - Actually I have already hacksawed some steel off the top of the channel section.)

At the same time I ground out all the "bird**** welds" and rewelded them myself:

The "bow shackle receiver" was inserted right through the channel-section and then I welded BOTH sides:

But in case that isn't strong enough, I'm fitting a thick backing-plate behind the rear bumper/crossmember with 5 bolts going right through it to secure the towbar. (And there are another 6 smaller bolts holding it in place too.) One of these 5 bolts threads directly into the "square-section" of the bow-shackle receiver ........and all bolts will be high tensile.

New snowplow. Took off the old Meyer frame and replaced with a Western frame and blade I got from a guy last Friday. The frame and blade are 24 years old but sat in a barn for 22 of them. (Barn find)

Had Howie, my welder, adapt the frame to the truck. He is an awesome welder. It took us about 5 hours of welding and thinking it out and it is fantastick !!!

It's a 6 1/2 foot blade, but it is about 9" taller than the new ones so it should move a lot of snow. Kept the Meyer E47 pump, so now I have me a Westmeyer plow. :cool:
 
I drove my 69 aprox 10 miles round trip to the gas station from my shop . It was very exciting, something I have been looking forward to for a long time. Painting, powersteering, then brake issues , it was getting pretty old not driving it. I did recover our shop thrasher ( $200 wagoneer ) a few times but that was it untill this past weekend.
 
Put on a Zekster inspired Stainless Steel snorkel with and OEM head. Tonight I'm working on the LED mod and two weeks from now 60 series ps. See build thread for details.

Painted the '77 2F with POR15's engine paint kit that's going into my '78 to replace the tired '72 F that's currently in there (went Chevy orange, should look sweet!!). Lots more to do before Spring but it's a start...
 
Installed an edelbrock intake, fuel pump and a few other odds and ends on my new crate motor. I'm getting closer!:)
 
I got a little closer to pulling the 2F out for a rebuild. All that's keeping it in now is gravity. Engine stand is ready, but I don't have my own hoist. Hopefully I can get my hands on one in the next few weeks. Unfortunately my 05 tacoma needed both front wheel bearings replaced which has put a big dent in the rebuild fund. Hopefully it will be all back together for summer.
