- I Replaced the Ceramic Dimmer w/ a one w/ stainless steel spring

- Polished all contacts , replaced the springs and check balls

- Re-finished the Ultra Rare 1982-10/83 only UDSA spec Eye Ball Logo Back Lit Pull Switch Illuminated Knob

- Now , here's where i View the Biggest Bang I can Do to one of these puppies .....................

- i Delete the current metal Twist lock bulb Socket , witch limits your Bulb potential to Only a Few Measly
6 Lumens & no options to increase

- I have sourced a new Bulb Socket that fits firmly and properly in the bulb hole back of the swicth will

accept a #T-5 / #74 Wedge Bulb witch i can now install and has a Max Lumens output of 9.4 Lumens

3.4 Lumens might not seam like much but in My world , its like

In the last week?
New spark plug wires (That are almost a dead match with the paint job).
I remade the clutch hard line and bled the system.
I cleaned up the steering box and put in a new seal. Then a repaint with new hardware.
New choke cable installed.
A little farther on the wire harness. (I'm electrically ignorant, therefore slow)
Custom (improved) alternator bracket finished, powder coated and installed.
FST framework is painted/powder coated/installed! With plated hardware.
Passenger fender, apron, door, and bib assembly are all on. Steering column work is keeping the driver's side off.
The door will stay shut until the weather stripping quits being so "stuffy." Driver door will have to wait. I have to get in from time to time.
All gear boxes refreshed with new oil.
Seat brackets fabbed, coated, and installed. Seat bottoms in. The driver's back has a spring issue I hope I can fix without breaking it.
Exhaust installed.
I hope to be driving next week!

im starting to see more and more of this Phenomenon , The crumbling Connectors on Later Model Trucks

this wiper switch was out of a 1978 . at first i have thinking its just the Ravages of age and Time, and mabey

some is indeed so , but after several  before noon today , a bell went off in my head ,

its UV rays damage , but how under the dash ? well the Kick Vents of course Matt , i said to my self

I have not seen this in Older Toyota Cars when im Grazing The Yards For All The Discontinued Electrical

Connectors i can fill my pockets with :grinpimp:

so , i remove 1 terminal at a time and insert in a new UV rated Connector housing , i also polish the brass terminals too as i go

it looks like the old connector got BIT by a Zombie from the walking Dead or something

well now's shea's ready for a New Life of Reliable service for a happy owner .

moving on to a Fan Pull Switch from a 1980 FJ40 , with a 1973 FRONT FAN knob

, some MORON cut off the connector , so it requires a New one , I ONLY use OEM TOYOTA Parts Maker YAZAKI Brand & SUMINOTO's as well

anything else is GHETTO quality , and a Bad investment for a client or myself .......

I then Remove the Lid and the switch internal GUTZ ,

take note the burn and arcing marks on copper contacts

on to completion of the internals

lid pressed back on with SST ,

OEM TOYOTA sswitch wrap installed ,

u may recall only the hazard switch having the clear switch wrap , I Superseded TOYOTA Engineers Along time ago

and wrap EVERY switch under the dash , why TOYOTA engineers did not make this Move especially after all

the major 8/80 - Later Split Transfer-Case updates Era , Boggles my mind

u may notice the Yellow tape on the stand of or tail piece section , and recall TOYOTA using Black , and wonder why ?

Its My TAG or Brand marking Trademark , i only use Blue on the Wiper switch as well :grinpimp:

the aluminum PIN wrench NUT re-milled out nicly on my MINI Lathe
