Not bad for a 2008 that’s been beat to heck...

My LX finally arrived off the boat on Tuesday, but I wasn’t able to pick it up from the local agent until Friday. We went to the beach yesterday, and drove up the hill to explore a sugar mill ruin.

Late this afternoon I took a ton of air out of the tires... they were at 80 psi! And set them to 37 psi. World of difference, and I can’t believe the tire shop didn’t check them from what they got from tire rack.

I also started to work on the front mud flaps with a heat gun to get rid of the rub. Made some improvement but have some more work to do.

This forum is to share knowledge, experiences and learn stuff not make us all feel inferior. I now have a “dirty wheel well complex”. 🤣🤣

Hah... Well I had a “dirty wheel well complex too...”...til this afternoon... 😬

Honestly, it had never been worse as I’d let over-greasing get away from me...plus NASTY trail & road grime that just doesn’t wash off easily.

Full disclosure... I still have a ton of crud to address in other places underneath, but the wheel wells were a good start. :hillbilly:

-Slee auxiliary battery tray and reservoir relocation...
-Slee Main battery tray (not required)...
-IBS battery manager... (would go Redarc if I have a do-over).
-These are both type 35 Odyssey AGMs. Originally had a huge type 31 AGM from Interstate, but after two defective ones...I gave up and matched the aux battery & all good.

Still going strong after 4 years of the highest battery usage of anyone I know by far...(despite the premature doom one guy on mud loves to declare...haha). ;)

Mark,

Does that group 35 fit just fine with the slee tray? My factory panasonic is on the way out and I'm trying to decide what I should put in there. I need to check measurements, but wouldn't want group 31 fit? Not just the interatate model?

The 35 in my main slot works fine...but I really should set it on a light block of some kind....since the Slee main clamp is designed for a taller type 31.
I ended up matching the 35 on both.

Whenever my two batteries finally fail (I’ve tortured these two AGMs for 4 and 3 years and still going strong)...I’ll eventually see if I can increase size/capacity on both...but only bc there might be room. Not sure about the #2 spot...

But the simple answer to your tray clamp Q is...it secures the shorter 35 ok, but it’s at a funky angle. Not a big deal...but not exactly ideal either. But meh...no technical issues....just looks a little funny on inspection.

I replaced my brake pads and rotors, front and rear, with the StopTech Truck Axle kits. I was originally shooting for Terrain Tamers, but judging by the hair’s width on the front pads, I couldn’t wait any longer. It was a very straightforward process. Maybe a :banana: job at best. Bleeding procedures from the FSM was easy enough too. I am very pleased with the immediate outcome.

Hankook Dynapro AT2 275/70-18.
Liked them on my Tacoma and bought 'em again. No rubbing on the street, we'll see once it's flexed a little. Either way, a 2" lift/UCA's are in the plan.

Hit up Wolf Den run again, explored some new Blue trails, fun stuff. Managed to re-dent, or aggravate the rocker panel dent from LCDC. Any suggestions on a fix or solution to that? Seems fine during normal drive, but catches when its flexed, or certain left hand turns, or reverse on rights....

^Are you saying the tire is causing the dent? What offset wheel and tire size?

PSA.

Please use jack stands when your tires are off and working on the vehicle. I also put the tires under the vehicle just in case the jack stands fail.

I'm not saying that you didn't, as they are typically a placed a little farther back than what your pics show.

Preaching to the choir. But I was never under it at all...and it was only the one corner at a time facing the wheel well from the side like changing a tire. Never under. If I’m underneath at all with a wheel removed...it’s with jack stands.

Aside... That’s also why I mentioned (in a response lower down) that I have more crud to clean underneath...since you can only reach so many parts from the side... I’ll be crawling around under there soon with stands...wishing I had a full shop lift... -Gettin too dang old, fat & lame for this crawlin-around stuff...

Why does my 200 have Slee sliders but Slee's 200 does not?

Heh. Ya, I thought of that too...
But he did a pretty standard first mod...AT tires. ;)

For me, it was Rock Warriors and tires before anything, save for q quick side-step removal.
Then suspension...sliders...and blah blah blah...
