As I get familiar with the truck, I am seeing random things..

Those knuckleheads swapped out the CV axle and took a hammer straight to the tie rod and damaged it. (per the owner, the guy who did this is no longer there..)

The wilwood brakes that are installed...all over the place...
too many shims on the front ones (caliper height is wrong), so much so that the pads are accumulating and getting cut off on top of the rotor. see photo.

rear brakes: added shim to one side (didn't need to) but correctly installed on the other side.
Reasons like this are why I only take my vehicles to the pros that I know do good work. If I can't wrnech on them myself, I feel better knowing they're being treated right. Granted, one bad apple doesn't always spoil the bunch, but it can definitely leave a bad taste. Especially with special vehicles like these and special owners like us...

Yup. Unfortunately it's getting very hard to find people who do things properly, no matter what you pay them.
Once a shop gets bigger and they hire techs, you never know what level of work you are going to get.

If anyone knows quality shops in Houston (heck I will drive to Austin if I have to), let me know.

Tried TEQ and I wasn't impressed.

Have you checked out restoration station? I'm curious about them.

Best of luck! Thought about going that direction, but got a steal on a whole trans I couldn't pass up! Keep us updated!
Oh. That’s a new transmission too 🤣
Hopefully this will help it last a little longer 👍

Finally pulled the trigger on new wheels and tires. Went with 285/75 Goodyear DuraTracs on 17” Icon Anza wheels. I’ve had my eye on this set up for a while but the wheels had been out of stock until just recently. I dig how they compliment the chromed plastic on the rest of the truck.

Shout out to @Flatlanderfj40 and his guys at Kansasland Tire and Service for the hook up.

Looks great! What rack do you have up top?

Temperature went above 50* yesterday in NY, so I slide under the car to wire brush & grease the KDSS valves and, after that, put some leather balm on all the seats. Got me thinking, since my iPhone 16 Pro Max barely fits/doesn't charge in the factory wireless charger cubby, is there an aftermarket solution here? Whether it's a different charger pad or alternative use (dummy slot, additional USB/USB-C ports, etc) for this area?

How can I remove the scuff marks from the cargo area plastic trim? Tried "solution finish" to dye it but .....well it's too black. lol.

Speaking of cleaning, how do people clean under their roof racks? My LC came with a GOBI and I can't slide my hand deep enough to contact wash the center section of roof? Praying the solutions isn't temporarily unbolting it.

Same, mine came with a roof rack and I dread washing the car...

Almost want to take the roof rack off...

I use this large wash towel with a cord attached at one end, which I pull through from one side to the other. It works pretty well.

Open to trying anything. Also seeing Harbor Freight sells a microfiber, telescoping car wash mop that might have enough of a low profile that it can sneak under the rack. Will update in due course
