Had a pending P0456 (Evaporative Emissions System - Small leak detected) on my LC, yet it still passed the CO emission test. I did saw them scanning OBD 2 codes and taking the fuel cap off for a vacuum test. Lucky day!

Sprayed 2 cans of fluid film under the truck. 15 years in the desert and first winter in Wisconsin. I'm really sorry Elsie.

Played around in the AZ Strip. Got to try out my new (used) scepter gas cans, which I keep inside for now. They don't leak AT ALL. I can get decent mpg on a dirt road with cruise control (if the road is fairly consistent).

Changed the oil and filter, sending an oil sample to Blackstone.

Did rear brakes last weekend. Noticed the caliper bolts were seized on the rear left. Took it to the mechanic to replace the front pads/rotors and bearing repack. They serviced the rear caliper and all is well now. No more pulsating. Front rotors were beyond resurfacing.

Bought my LX and had it shipped cross country this week. Left Beverly Hills CA Wednesday night at 7pm, arrived in Louisville Saturday at 2pm. Now Im putting together a list of one-banana projects to knock out to baseline the truck over the next few weeks.

Fluid film smells for sure. Not bad like gear oil, just weird. After a few days smell is mostly gone. Worth it to me to try to delay rust.

I grew up working in a shearing shed so to me fluid film smells like a sore back and payday ;)

I sprayed several spots on my garage kept land cruiser with fluid film and after a couple days I couldn't smell it at all.
