New parts in the queue for install. Bora 1.25” spacers, OEM shocks, and center caps for the front wheels. Unfortunately, Toyota of Hollywood, FL (DiscountPartsMonster.com) sent me an incorrect rear shock, which delays things.

I’ve also decided to bite the bullet and do my front rotors and pads and axle seals, gaskets, etc. plus the passenger side lower ball joint. So I’ll be sitting idle for a bit until everything arrives, then probably need a full weekend to do everything.

Can you spot the incorrect rear shock? 😆😞

On another note, would you guys flip this bolt so the excess is protruding upwards instead of down where it might interfere with recovery? It’s kinda bugging me.

I would flip it in a heartbeat, if it wasn’t a terribly hard thing to do.

Have a link to the recovery point? Looks like those units made in AU. Always liked em!

Good eye. Those are the RoadSafe rated recovery points for the 100/105 and Nissan Patrol. I bought them from The 4WD Shed and shipping to USA is steep. Note these are actually made in Taiwan, just like my bumper 😆

Did you install them according to the directions? Might just use two bolts... three for Patrol.... the third going horizontally. But three bolts would probably be no worse.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. There’s only two bolts per recovery point. The long bolt hanging down in the foreground of the pics is specific to the Ironman 4x4 bumper. It happens to hang down uncomfortably close to the recovery points. I’m going to flip it.

I live in the south but it seems everywhere I turn lately I see people posting pictures of failed, rusted out front sway bar mounts thanks to the A/C drain. Got a little peace of mind thanks to Cruiser Garage.

Whoa- that's a big ol awning. Enjoy that thing. I'm awning ignorant - I assume you'd lash out the corners to trees and stuff? Last one I set up was a mega deluxe tarp on a rope back in boy scout days.
I did the same in Scouts, back in the day.

The price was right and yes it casts a pretty good shadow if you position you rig for the most shade available during the hottest part of the day... Also yes, it's designed to be a free standing system but you can run guide lines to stakes from the long arms/poles.

There is one telescoping pole, on a hinge, that can be dropped down from the furthest corner, for stability during heavy winds/rain and Alu-Cab has designed accessory walls that can be velcro/hook&loop attached and tent poled or staked for privacy/wind break support.

I was really looking for a previously owned system to see how we liked it as we saw the portability for tailgate/pre-game activities. I also thought it might come in handy for occasional radio base ops from the tailgate.

Cheers mate,

Got oil change... Mobil 1 5W-50
Plasti Dipped the chrome side view mirror covers (tried removing them since I got the truck without success)
Plasti Dipped the rear "Land Cruiser" logo and rear license plate frame.
De-badged rear chrome pieces

and finally got Techstream to disable the steering wheel retracting upon key removal option!
Could i possibly see some pics of all this? Wondering how blacked out might look on my black 100.

Last week I rebuilt the rear quarter panels and cleaned some rust on the inner wheel arches.
Yesterday I've replaced upper and lower control arms, sway bar bushings and tie rods on the driver side.
The lower control arm, what a pain in the butt.
Especially mounting the new one. I had to fight a couple of hours before I could squeeze it in place.
And -of course- I forgot the torsion bar bolt (the one that must be on the lca before mounting it, yes that one). I'll put it from the outside, with the nut on the inside. No way I'm taking the lca down again

Now time for the passenger side :)

Yuppers....

My only gripe on the UZJ is the exit of the A/C drain as when you do decide to replace your sway bar to frame bushings you will be frustrated trying to get that one out where it drips. I also added a little length to it and my 2015 Tacoma as it needed a little extension also.

Hey guys new to posting this is my 100 series in the process of doing 5 inch lift

Paint looks great bud, You work on it with some cleaner wax and stuff or is that a paint job?

It's a 105 correct?

There are internet rumors about a Land Rover of sorts running this awning and it actually flipping the vehicle on it's side due to being caught in a wind storm and the bracketry/hinge mechanism is just BEAST!

I believe All-Cab says it's not needed for winds up to 15mph or so. I mean for the money I am not testing that though!

Ohhhh, those are sweet! That's a good Cruiserhead's spouse! :)

In the words of Napoleon Dynamite, “Luck-yyyy!”
😁 She's a pretty damn cool lady. 17 years this part October 2nd we've been together.

Also having friends in the industry helps A LOT when buying stuff. Been friends with the guys that started up Rotiform till they got bought out by one wheel company then ultimately got acquired by wheel pros so I have access to a lot of different wheel choices and the hookup aint bad.
