I drove a 3.0 today for the first time and it wasn't as slow as I thought it would be. Seemed to have much more pep than my 80.

mine played pinball between two embankments and then tried to do a somersault off a 10 foot drop, she got cold feet and stopped sliding 6 inches from the drop off.

all with a nurse that i was trying to get to our local hospital.

both of mine started in -5 weather all week!!:D

Sat in the driveway b/c my back's still sore and driving for more than 20 minutes hurts.

She needs to be taken out for a spin to the coast and shown some love.

Mine got a new timing belt and an oil leak stopped

You know, I've yet to take The Mule out to the coast. Sounds like we have truck missions on the agenda

Damn dude thats nuts, lol. The storm hit us pretty bad here, 23.5inches, lol. My toy had some fun though.

mines at the shop awaiting rebuilt motor, downey headers, marlin clutch, false water pump bracket

Where'd you dig up the Downey's b/c last I checked there's only Thorley's now.*

FWIW don't use the generally supplied header gaskets and bolts you'll find b/c trust me here I've seen some kits with bolts that're almost 2mm too long and that's a whole other mess IMHO. Use the factory studs and nuts along with factory gaskets. They last longer and if/when you ever have to redo anything the nuts make things a ton easier. Saw the same thing with the Thorley's.

If memory serves, Downey even advocated using factory studs and gaskets. It may have been a 2F header thing (yeah yeah, I'm a Cruiserhead gone to the "Dark Side") but I remember him specifically expressing his personal dissatisfaction with the gaskets in his kits, and ardently recommending OEM gear.

it is the fan bearing, not sure the proper name, but with all the plastic it looks like the water pump, but all it is is a bearing in there, yes mine went bad. it also has the fan bolted to the front of it. the 3.0 water pump is run off the timing belt, and can not be seen unless you remove all the plastic covers. when the bearing goes bad the fan wobbles and it throws the belt.

Just finished a complete rebuild, only took me two years (of working on it about 2 hours at a time every three or four weeks). It was out so long I forgot how much of a pain in the ass it is to wrench on. It was a dream working on it on when it was sitting on the engine stand!
