Agreed. Toyos are top dogs haha.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about them so I’ll give them a try. When the kenda tires came out and were cheap everyone talked them down. Guys tried them cause they were cheap and now they’re one of the better off road tires out there for the price. I’d imagine if these kanatis do well they’ll see a huge popularity jump just like the kendas. Time will tell.

Last year I seen a clean 80s series with these kanatis and they looked good in person.

FWIW - I had very bad luck with Toyo AT2s. So bad that Discount tire bought my set back after IIRC we went through 7 tires total and couldn't get a set of 4 to balance. They were 16+ ounces out of balance on a road force on a couple. Discount tire was great, Toyo not so much on the customer service side. Replaced with Cooper ATs that balanced with very little weight and were markedly better on road and roughly the same offroad. Even the well known brands have lemons from time to time.

The Kenati tires look like a good value alternative to a Duratrac to me, but I haven't ever owned them. I would buy them for my FJ40 and give em a try if they made them in bigger sizes.

I bought my tundra back in May? I bought these oem led lights for a newer tundra about a week later and ordered the iHacker harness (top notch quality and information).

I finally took 30 minutes and installed them. I still have about 30 minutes left on finishing up the DRL relay install.

Well, I was just about to order a set of Toyo RT Trails at $466 a tire until I remembered a few Tundra owners talking about simple tires. Well I placed an order for a set of 5 Kanati Trail Hogs in 37x12.50r18 at $231 a tire!!! Couldn't pass up such a killer deal and after hearing about good experiences from a few members of tundras.com. And of course, I have to give you all a few of their pictures running Kanati tires.

I'm keeping the mud terrains for trails and run these all terrains in the winter months.

Looks like you were with Travis in this pic? 👀👀

At monjeau peak?

It’s cause they look so damn good for the gram 🤣

On the topic of tires, I took some nasty chunks out of 2 sidewalls in Colorado so I got to upgrade had to buy new shoes. I was going to go for RTs, but instead ended up with the new Falken AT4W. I had originally dismissed them since I wasnt happy with the AT3Ws at all...I know they are loved in ice and snow but that's very rare for my driving. I assumed they were only slightly different but I was very mistaken.

The AT4Ws are 3 ply instead of 2 and use a much harder compound, as well as a changed tread pattern and true scalloped edges. Basically a different tire together. So far the ride is smooth, although I'm sure my mileage will take a hit since they are 9# heavier for the same size (and another 5 if you include the size upgrade from 33s to 35s).

Time will tell, but I was glad to find something a little more durable than many other ATs without doing a full RT.

Potato quality photo for now. Need to get back on a trail.

I will keep everyone posted on my experience. And agreed, paying $400+ per tire is ridiculous. I remember paying just over $200 a tire for 35" yokohama g003s and now they're $400! WTF I just want some damn tires haha
The BFGs I put on recently were around $450. $2k with taxes and install. Nuts.

The Kanati tires seem to have a good reputation in the sxs world which would make me think they’ll be better off-road than on the highway.

Ya that’s crazy pricing!

Travis and his buddy both run them and had luck with them. Tires should be here next week and I’ll post them once mounted to the ray10s.

The old girl continues to be a Swiss army knife of work truck and trusty travel companion to the random places we end up. This is out exploring on the kenai coast. Sunny Saturday afternoon crowd of zero other people is just how I like it.

I’m living my tundra 37” dreams through you.
Just do it! You won't regret it, trust me.

On a side note, 4Runner parts started rolling in. We received the arb skid plates, perry parts bump stop kit, dr kdss panhard relocation, SCS spline lug nuts, and lots of stickers. Now just waiting on the sliders and rear tire swing out and the build will begin!!!

Maybe after I finish my 40, and my 200.

Started installing my new (used) set of King 3.0s as well as some SDHQ ABS guards and Timbren bumpstops. I think I need to flip the reservoir rings around to get it a little closer to the frame. Then 3 more corners to go.

Oh geez. It’s like you just pulled down your pants in front of us and have a tiny weiner:rofl:

I found my AT3w s were the absolute wurst Falken things I’ve ever driven in snow! I hated them. We have a weird snow though. High mountains, but right next to the warmest lake in most of the west due to hotsprings under the lake. It makes the snow fall dry, but then the humidity and warmer air from the lake turn it into compressed grease basically.

Bonus points will be awarded to those that enjoyed my sausage jokes.
