Repairing some rust spots on the quarter panels

Welp, since my RAV4 TRD got wrecked, I decided I needed a CarPlay deck in the 80.
Ripped out the old Eclipse and installed this. Cleaned up the birds nest of wires while I was back there and made a better mount for the battery controller.

Note to self: Hide my play list before taking photos of my head unit in Apple CarPlay mode.

I guess I have to hand it to the Deftones at least for truth in advertising. They are deaf to tones... told us in the title.

I was just at the Dia de los Deftones in San Diego a couple weekends ago.

But this weekend I had to replace a failed brake booster with a new one (Seiken) and new Toyota master cylinder since I was there and it was on my shelf. Also removed the ABS pump. Left the LSPV as IMHO it is there for a reason, it just should be adjusted to compensate for the delta in lift. I used a Motive Power “insect sprayer” brake bomb connected to the BA-10 master cylinder adapter which worked awesome

Over xmas break (work is ultra slow - change freezes) I plan on completing the rest of the brake system as the parts are all sitting on the bench, but that also includes going thru the front axle again which is a bit of a larger project.

I caught them at a small venue back in 2010. Pretty killer show.

New shocks and springs J’s and L’s, after nearly 20yrs. the old ones were used when I put them on back then. I had bought them off Shotts back in the day. The OG’s will remember that dude.
I was listening to Queens of the Stone Age, Smashing Pumpkins and Social Distortion is case anyone wants to critic my music. 😁

Took it for a spin. Feels better and maybe a tad higher until they settle.
The old front shocks were definitely shot. One didn’t even expand when it was removed. The rears weren’t much better.

Were the springs actually worn out?

No pics. But Thursday I went through the front axle. Haven’t since I gotten it. The diff was leaking. So it was time standard fair. Did do the trail gear wiper seals. And omitted the backing plates. No birf soup, only one trunion bearing was actually bad. And found a bad roller on the wheel bearing so brake job with bearings coming soon.

Other than the loss of paint and the Land Cruiser lean, they were probably fine for 20yr old springs that have been abused pretty well.

That pic of that panhard brought back some memories.
Haha, that was the longest ~70 mile drive of our lives. I built all my own links (except the front control arms) after that trip.
If I remember correctly I got the pan hard that broke from man-a-fre. Never buy solid bar links, ever again.

Added a Tackform heavy duty Tablet mount and a DUAL XGPS 160 Bluetooth GPS booster to enhance trail leading abilities.

Sold the 5th gen. This was a neat rig. Looking for a new daily driver if anyone knows of anything cool for sale. 200 series could be an option. F150 with a coyote engine is on the table. Open to leads for anything really, maybe even a 3/4 ton gasser. I'll be cruising around in the Raptor for now.
