the dreaded seam split!

CBT replaced leaking front and rear transfer case seals and transmission pan seal. All went at 145k.

Well I decided to move on from my 3rd gen 4Runner after 10 awesome trouble free years. It will be going up for sale next week after a trip to the detailer. My baby got replaced by a 01 LX470. I'm wanting to pull my 40 around and the V6 wasn't going to cut it. Here's a pic of When I bought it on Tuesday and then after some rummaging around in CSC members garages and brains I have this. I'm looking to do a lot more to my 100. Open to cool parts and advice.

Remember adding weight and taller tires to the LX will take away from how well it tows on hills. My 2000 LC was really not up to the task of a car hauler heading up to the rim. One of the main reasons replaced it with a Sequoia. That and I couldn't convince my wife to trade in her 4th gen. 4Runner. But smaller and a five speed auto it was already a better towing vehicle. Plus wired at the factory for trailer brakes.

White knuckle sliders arrived...ordered bare metal. Painting with duplicolor wheel paint. Primer, base coat, texture paint, graphite coat, then clear.

@murf sending her in to CBT tomorrow. Hopefully the guys can work their magic on the rear AC, and finally get rid of that TPMS warning light.

Replaced the generic steel flex sleeved throttle cable that keeps fraying and causing low idle issues. Found a better one from a Camry's fuel tank door release cable that is designed differently and will hold up better.

Finished wiring version 1.0 of my 100W/100Ah solar battery pack. I'll be working off-grid for the next week but that doesn't mean I won't have cold beer. I could have wired it more professionally but I made rookie mistakes. Version 2.0 will be much better.

I hope.

Replaced the wood base on my roof rack. I used wider slats, and added an access through the sun roof. The wood still needs finished but you get the idea. I also deleted the over head lighting because I hate the amount of glare it produces off of the hood. The lights will get moved to the front bumper later.

Was there any modifications needed to make this happen. I'm having the same issue on my 40

Nice work, shame to hide it on top of a truck. I've wondered about the roof lighting glare, going to start on the front bumper and mirrors then reevaluate my needs.

I have flood lights, so that compounds the issue. I have not heard anything better about spot lights though. It seems that anyone that drives off road at night all say keep the lights off the roof.

nope. The cable actuates much smoother now and holds the set idle.

After driving hard for over 1,100 miles in 36 hours to pick up my Venturecraft trailer, my fan clutch blew a seal and started leaking silicone fluid. With an unknown age radiator and needing to replace a damaged fan shroud, I bit the bullet and replaced everything in the cooling system. New fan clutch, shroud, radiator, fan, and every freaking little diabolical coolant and heater hose. Yes, the little bastards at the firewall and underneath for the rear heaters. Some busted up knuckles, transmission fluid in my hair, a couple new tools and a mess to clean up in the garage, but all done and ready for many miles of exploring.

Edit-
Forgot to add that I also replaced the water pump. It was just ever so slightly loose. May have lasted anothe 100k or who knows?

I have heard that setting the light further back helps so the glare hits the top of the truck above the windshield rather than the hood.
