A good morning to have your Land Cruisers safely tucked away. 😊

Onur, what's the name of the place in Atlanta that you've used before for pump rebuilds?

I‘d buzz up Kat or Jen at ACC and ask them. I‘ve consumed enough alcohol and drugs to forget . 😂😂

I‘m referring everyone to DFIS in PDX. They are top notch and worth the price/shipping.

Some minor fixing. The worst part was the replacement of three-year-old fuel hoses because one started to leak. At the same time I changed the fuel filter.

Then I went on a small test drive to investigate the damage caused by the storm in my forests. Driving was nice after a few weeks off, finding fallen trees was not.

Today I changed one u-joint of the front propeller shaft.

On Monday, it's time for the annual inspection. Another 7 years and the Cruiser is so old that it doesn't need to be inspected every year.

Parked grandpa BJ73 at The Toyota Collection in Cologne and had a look at the latest grandchild of the Landcruiser family: The new Prado.

7 seater. It is a pre-series model still, which one could see on certain details like handcut mudflaps, seats in the rear not folding and the tailgate struts being too short.
The leather interior is very nice. Seating is good.
Mirror housings look a bit oversized and resemble a 1990s desktop PC 😆
Some details make me wonder whether those will be changed for the regular series, e.g the molded compound inner fenders, which have like a textile texture. Also still lots of openings and corners that would catch lots of grime.
The most debated point within the spectators was the all plastik bumper, front apron and 'skidplate' as well as the trunk. The 2nd row of seats folds down flat, making a flat cargo bay, but the floor beyond apparently is not flat. Whether it would work to take the rear seats out and have a flat floor to work with, is the open question. I will have another opportunity to look at it on the Buschtaxi-Treffen next weekend.
Cheers Ralf

I don't understand why but for some reason the US version is getting shortchanged and will only be a five seater. I might have to write it off for that reason.

GX550 gets 7 seats and zero trunk space.

Hybrid battery prevents the floor from being flat all the way.

I keep getting what I think is surface rust on my troopy. It rubs right off, but is definitely raised and I can feel it catch a fingernail.

Could it be pollen?

All over my roof too.
