Hmmm... I have taken my passenger side switch apart twice but never the driver. Looks like I should check it out. Thanks for posting.
I'm mildly relieved to be replacing it. Those springs and rockers look like a pain to line up for reassembly. I'd like to find the continuity chart for the switch, use jumpers to get my windows back up. RM183E has one for the two door. But this has 14 pins.

Here is a schematic of the 14-pin switch assembly, a continuity chart could be extrapolated from it. This is from the 70-series wiring diagrams posted in the manuals sticky, there is a diagram of the plug with the pins numbered as well.

That little rubber trim piece that goes between the flat-fender and the 'nose' of the Cruiser on mine got sprayed over when the bloke painted it in Oz. How easy/hard of a job is it to remove the fender to install a new gasket/trim? I've never found a tutorial online. I'd also like to swap out my antenna as it's busted anyway... I know where parts diagrams are but sometimes there's an easier way around this sort of thing than unbolting everything...

Got some film back from Troopy trips and our recent visit to Chaco Canyon.

Are those from Top Gear? They look great!
Nice! Wanna see those pics.. Gotta get to Chaco..

They Be! Took a while to get here of course, but they are well made and the folks at the other end are nice as! Magnets are strong! I love the instructions.. They do not recommend driving with them 'attached to the outside of the Troopy' Perhaps that for the US market ;)

Did you do the magnetic closure or zipper?

Oh dang. Didn't see that "film" part of my comment was still in there. hah.

Here are my two favorite photos from that weekend. One is from where we camped and the other is one of the great houses.

Hah! I still rock the celluloid from time to time...
Went Zippers, with the sides and bottom magnet style. We'll see how that goes. I figure I can macgyver a different method if they come loose too often..

Nice. Edited my comment and added two photos.

Not fun. Even with small hands it sucked.

Those are beeeeyooot.. I'm a square shooter too, at least in medium format ;) How is it I have never shot Acros!? Will have to try it, looks tasty.

Ugh. I was afraid someone would say that. Did you just remove the lower "flat fender"? Did the doors have to come off too?

Cheers! Yeah, these came from my Mamiya 7ii. Acros II make sure you get the II. Lots of range in that film.

If you can loosen/remove the bolts holding the two halves together then you can pull out the old piece and slide in the new piece and re tighten. I would try and not remove the two closest to the doors, the rest aren’t too hard to totally remove and re install.
As to the antenna, best way is to put one on your bumper. If you don’t have too big hands you can remove and replace the antenna but it definitely isn’t any fun. Long sleeve shirts will help reduce cutting up your arms as you reach up from underneath through the little hole between the fender and firewall.

Pulled apart my master switch to investigate the sudden loss of function in 3 windows. The pictures say it all.View attachment 2606048View attachment 2606049View attachment 2606047
If I was a engineer designing the interior of a serious 4wd, I think I'd put switches on the doors that are vertical and the central control switch would be overhead. This way water dirt mud coffee etc.. would not fall drip or drain downward into the switch. Think about all the times you spray Windex or 409 cleaning your interior and you spray it on those switches and wipe around them with a rag to get the dirt out....

Antenna swap is easy. I did it on my BJ73 and didn't have to remove anything other than the old antenna. You can fish the new antenna into place. That being said I highly recommend a antenna with a signal booster. I'm running my 12V stereo from a 24v-12v convert so it's getting 12V instead of the 13.8V normal in a 12V car. My reception is terrible. Maybe you won't have this problem.
