Might have just missed you at DEQ. The tech handed me his card and casually told me he would buy it if I ever considered it.
Now that she is plated I can get to work on 'fixing' (partially deleting) the restrictive full length exhaust. So many holes in it now I might as well!
 
Left seat (drivers) is worn out n torn. Had to change seats bot 2 front seats n swapped them. Direct swap no issue. Except passenger gets best seat. Will swap bases another time. Now 1 less issue to deal with for safety cert. after 14 yrs parked in a garage she'll be a legal beagle
 
Pulled the OME shackles to clean the pins up and re-grease. Not the first Cruiser I've seen with the anti inversion shackles installed the wrong way (and upside down in this case) :hmm:
 
Made a good start on a rack to hold ramping gear.
This thing is even uglier in real life.

This wheel/spacer combination responds very well to the 89-94 IFS Pickup steel wheel open caps.

On the subject of wider stance and stability --

If one were willing to undertake the cost and custom work required what would be the pitfalls of leaf sprung 80 axles under a 70?

I know linked 80 axle setups have been used with seeming success.

I reckon the steering would be the most involved part of the idea.

Way wide and very complicated. You basically take a vehicle that can be operated under any conditions and turn it into a low speed trail truck.

You pays your money and takes your pick.
 
Got a compressor for 20bux of the local scrap dealer to rape fittings off.. im making a small tank too fit under the deck . Should be all done for about a 100 bux.
