What do you do during a gas shortage?

Drive your 6.0 LS Denali out of state to pick up your new 7.3 Big Block Gasser Rollback! Ha!

They had to take gas from the owners boat to fill the tank so I could make it home. I promptly proceeded to burn most of it on the way back.

gotta love owning your own gas station!

After pulling the tractor out last fall the winch stopped working. What I thought was a simple contactor upgrade turned into a new 9.5 XP 6 hp motor as well! Getting ole Lynchburg ready for relic Run. I figured if I am going to jump into the deep end of the pool on Daniel I might want the winch to work.:)

I pulled the trans and tcase out this afternoon and mocked up the twin sticks. I also have to replace the rear main engine seal that is leaking.

So back when I was 15 I bought my first vehicle....what a mistake. I sold it very quickly . It was cool but that was about it. 1961 Willys CJ5. I bought my first mini truck shortly after that. 1982 SR5 shortbed 5spd truck with a/c and power steering.

Got some DOM driveshafts made up after twisting the stock rear one.

I finally got the twin sticks adjusted for the Orion. Only had them off and on a dozen times! I also blew out a rear wheel cylinder in my efforts. Two parts stores later I had two in hand to replace. Better at the house than on the trail.

Wanting tunes for the trails, I hooked up some speakers to the vintage radio. YES it works!

I just reworked the leaf packs on the back of Patty. It was so friggin’ stiff before. These are old marlin leaves. I also replaced the brake lines and bypassed the broken/seized LSPV.

Next on the list is a W56 swap with a 4.7 case and while I’m in there replace the clutch, throwout, and rear main seal. Then onto high steer with RUFs.

Skip the 4.7 case and put dual cases in. Much better gear selection and you will wish you still had reg low range. But I understand cost...

I already have a 4.7 case sitting on my shop floor So I’m going to do that for now. I have a 4runner I’ve been going back-and-forth on building and if I do it will get duals. If I don’t build the 4runner then I’ll put duals in Patty but for right now I’m going to run the 4.7 case.

Thanks for the information on the driveshaft shop.

Finally getting around to the oil pan gasket on LL. After spending an hour with a scraper and a razor blade I finally got it cleaned up. Takes more time to clean than the job actually takes.

Removing and cleaning is the hardest part for sure. Did you check and see if the skid plate leaked?

Good call. It was leaking into the bellhousing area. That is why I pulled the trans out to replace the rear main. It was new a year ago and still dry. Must have been the oil pan the whole time.

I spent saturday prepping one of my parts trucks for the driveline removal. Engine trans and t case are coming out in one shot. These will go in my triple locked 93 that I will be selling. I have already pulled the exhaust and gas tank. I will pillage whatever else I want and sell the rolling chassis.

Needless to say I will be missing Coal Miners. :(

I have someone who wants the 93 so I need to get it running while I have him on the hook!
