Did a preliminary run up Blanca to jaws 1. Going to need to carry extra fuel for this trip. I will hook my other temperature gauge up too. The first hour and a half is a pretty steep climb. 4 love 1st gear at a little over 1k rpms. Pretty bumpy road.

Well it was 16 years in the making since Dolly threw down the gauntlet and said I could do whatever i wanted to the 40 if i could drive her up to the top of Blanca. I was finally able to deliver on that promise, just didn't realize at the time I would be living here.

Made a run up Blanca yesterday, pretty uneventful trip overall. Had to stack a couple rocks on Jaws2, the risk of sliding over the cliff over-rode the desire to do it as you found it... Coming back down on Jaws1 got a little light on the drivers rear tire but I think my butt clenching the seat helped keep it on the ground. It was a quick trip with a few picture stops and helping a guy with a taco buggy get over Jaws2. Left the road about 9:30, airing back up at 4:30. With a group I'm sure you could easily spend 6 hours each way though between pictures and spotting. Here is a pic at Lake Como and Blue lake, I will get some of the obstacles off the other camera later.

We have to go up again so we can climb up to the top of the mountain, but that will be an overnight trip.

Ya'll give a yell when your ready to come up and play in the mountains!

IF you would have added “automatic gun fire” in those changes, I would have thought you were in the Sierra Nevadas’ in Northern California.

Lately here I go from sun in the passenger side, sun in the driver’s side, then sun in the front window.

Beautiful place you have there…

We took a few scenic routes this weekend, started outside Creede and went across Stony pass and watched a moose for awhile, ran into Silverton for a burger then headed back out to Animas, went over California, corkscrew, Poughkeepsie (part way), hurricane, and prolly some others. Ended up in Ouray and looked for u bolts for a Bronco (no dice, but chain and rachet strap repair held all weekend and all the way home). Spent the night in Silverton and ran over Black Bear into Telluride, caught Immogene and Yankee Boy back to Ouray. Decided to head home via paved road so we didn't do Engineer in the dark. Once I get the pictures sorted I will get some posted.

It has been great to be able to get out and about and wheel this summer instead of hiding in the garage. Even better for the Mrs to go and enjoy it too.
