I just had some dumba$$ call asking me to weld a wheel for him. He didnt want to have the tire removed before so I said no way. I told him it was dangerous and could explode. I was told I was full of sh!t and if I didnt want the work he would find another welder to do it. I hope he doesnt find anybody. All I could tell him was to use google if he didnt believe me.

I don't know if you all know this, but NEVER weld on a rim with a tire mounted. When the wheel is heated the air in the tire is also heated and causes a reaction with the rubber that will cause heat and pressure to build up causing an explosion.

Ummm, dang.

I was just gonna ask you to do the same thing for me....😉

I would be happy to weld it for you. Just have the tire dismounted, or if you don't mind risking a few scratches I can dismount it.

I give a helluva discount to HDC members.

I was just joking, but I might ask for some help when I make me some sliders...😃

I don't believe you either........... I'm going to try it.

Not.

Good info, I had no idea.
