Hi all,

I've been lurking on the site for about a month, so I thought it was time to finally post. I've been a fan of the LCs for a long time and I was looking to get a gently used '13-'15 model (my preference is always to buy used). Unfortunately, I saw the '16s before I was able to pull the trigger on a used model and immediately fell in love with the updates - button layout, front end, 8-speed... err... maybe not the rear entertainment system. :\

At any rate, it seems that they put a lot of thought into "fixing" many of the things that bothered me when I was looking at previous model(s). Can they read my mind? Long story short, on a whim and against any good financial sense I normally have, I pulled the trigger on a new 2016 LC.

I love this thing! It is a friggin' tank. Mods are already running through my head and will eventually happen, but I have to wait until my wife recovers from her myocardial infarction - induced by sticker shock. Thankfully, there's a somewhat limited aftermarket for the 2016 right now and that will probably save my marriage and my wallet for a while.
you're in luck, most of the mods from the previous years work just fine:) Welcome, now let's see some pics!!!

I am excited to join this forum. I have a 2013 LC 200 Series, black with tan interior. I just got it this weekend. I want to customize it a bit and wonder if someone could guide me.
Here is what I want to do.
I want to lift it and was thinking about the ARB coil over springs, it is about a 3 inch lift.
I want a new front bumper and a winch. Any thoughts? I was thinking ARB Sahara.
Any thoughts on rock sliders?
Any thoughts on rear bumper with a winch attachment?
Thank you for any suggestions?

Welcome!
Your questions relate to many existing threads.
You'll want to have a look around, and then post those questions within threads that relate to that issue (bumpers, sliders, etc).
There are a TON of expert guys here who will offer advice, but they don't usually look for questions in the "welcome" thread.

Do a search within the main 200 heading (where you found this thread) and you'll get tons of existing conversations about lifts sliders, bumpers, etc.

Again...welcome to a great forum!

While I've been a MUD member since 2012, but I have spent most of my "Forum Time" on the FJ Cruiser Forum.
I recently traded my FJ Cruiser for a 2011 Land Cruiser. 65k miles, ARB bumpers front and rear and an OME suspension.
So far I installed a CB, a 12-volt outlet in the rear and some ARB sliders and side rails and spent a week in Moab. I had a lot of fun moding and wheeling my FJ, Looking forward to the same with the 200.

Welcome! Sounds like you're coming in with a lot of experience...and sounds like you grabbed a great 200. :)

I traded my 2012 Tundra in for a low milage 2014 200 Series this week and look forward to seeing where it goes from here. The Tundra is a great truck but I was ready for some sort of change to a ride a bit smaller. I'll be digging into the threads here, starting with 3rd row seat removal, then seeing if removing the 2nd is viable.

Been a lurker. Just picked up a '14 200 and starting the research for the transformation. Also have a '13 Tundra heavily modded, a custom '75 CJ5 and a '42 GPW im in the process of restoring. Thanks for hosting all this great info.

Welcome! Be sure and post some photos. We never get tired of LC pics... :)

Hey everyone, new guy here, just traded in my 2012 Tundra for a 2013 200 and can't wait to turn this baby into a overland trail rig. Looking forward to spending more time here :)

Welcome to a great group of guys who know 1000x more than I do. ;)
I learn new things here every week, if not every day.

Thats awesome! I'm looking forward to soaking in some knowledge! First things first, I need to get rid of the 22" KMC wheels that came with it, LOL. Thinking of a set of 18" Method NVs, but will definitely need to research what fits and won't tear apart the fenders :)

Sounds good!
Do some basic searches here with key words like wheels, tires, tire database, suspension, etc. and you'll find a TON of great threads already complete with photos, specs, troubleshooting, pros/cons, experience, etc. Amazing amount of accumulated knowledge. Also... We have some fantastic vendor participants who post and respond regularly.

Outstanding, thanks for the warm welcome!

Hi everyone. Just got a 2013 on Monday. First Cruiser, first Toyota for me. I posted some pictures from the dealership lot in the picture thread:

200 series picture thread

This forum has already been an excellent resource for research ahead of the purchase and running down a few issues now that it's home. Looking forward to learning as much as I can and hopefully contributing at some point.

Saw you post! Welcome! Great forum here that always reminds me how little I know. ;)

I pulled the trigger on some suspension! Icon 2.5 non-resi fronts, SPC upper control arms, and King 2.5 with resi rear. Currently contemplating between OME 2721 or 2722 coils along with Firestone bags for towing, etc. I'm super psyched and can't wait. Will pull the trigger on some Method NV's along with 325/60/18 tires shortly. I need to get rid of the blingy 22" KMC's that are currently on it. I'll start a build thread soon. :)

Joined recently, have had the LC itch for some time, and just bought a 2010 LX570 with 111k on the clock. Car is in nice shape, one owner, all maintenance done at Lexus so I have the records. Radiator replaced at 96k. Water pump replaced at 90k. Leaking from shock/strut according to the service records that still needs to be replaced (not sure if this is just the shock or the whole strut ASSY), diffs need fresh fluids.

And apparently I'll be needing a battery (dead after a couple hours playing around in the car with the lights on.) Surprised the battery was dead, replaced in late 2014. Could have just been my stupidity, but I think I will through a new battery in there for good measure. The LX drives great and happy to be back in the LC family.

Recent vehicle history:
2000 4Runner
Traded that in for 2004 GX470 (35k miles) [many miles, and much fun off road in the GX. very trouble free vehicle.]
Traded the GX in at 180k for a 2016 Subaru STI [loved the raw driving experience of the STI, but missed having an off road capable cruiser.]
So today I let go of the STI (11k miles) for the 2010 LX 570 (111k miles). Just about an even trade.

Kinda nervous about the miles, bought looks like it was well taken care of, with a solid history, and I am looking forward to many, many miles on this rig. Let the adventure begin...

Hi everyone,

Been lurking a little while and must say your forum and posts are great. I finally got to drive a 200 this morning and all I can say is wow! It's refined, luxurious and built solid. I'm thinking of trading my 2012 Tundra that's got King coil overs and cam burg upper control arms with 34.5" tires. The LC would be a change, but in a good way. The one I drove was a 2013 with 80k and they were asking $46.5k. It is a 1 owner in excellent shape. It seems like if I'm patient I can find one under $50k with much lower miles and still great condition. If this one had 40k miles or so I would have jumped on it. I know I will have to take my time in finding one. Thanks for all your posts, they are very helpful. I look forward to sharing when I get one.
