generally, a properly tuned stock carb is the best wat to go

just rebuild the Aisin, will save you money to use on something else.

They are good carburetor.

The stock Aisan is a superior carb and built specifically for the 4.2 LC. If you need to stay smog compliant, then you can not do the Weber. If your truck has the smog equipment deleted, then the Weber is possible, but generally not recommended. You can search here and see all the people who have a weber and are searching for the removed linkage (and a stock carburetor) to return to factory spec.

Best is to remove the stock carb and send it to one of the carb gurus you can find here for rebuild/tweaking.

I believe you are correct
Thanks for the mention Spike.😊 I just finished a second carb rebuild for @Fjstruck on Tuesday, have one on the way from @tahoe40/45 and had a local from Riverside drop off a '78 half an hour ago. I still seem to be averaging three a week.

@86 FJ60 , you are welcome to leave me a voicemail and I will call you back, usually within a few hours.😊
