The colors on this forum are different than the main mud forum so it doesn't show up very well
It's kind of a statement on the guys who list evey mod on their rig down to the type of air cleaner they use.

BTW I really want a hula girl on the dash, but Joanne is against the idea. I may have to go with this instead.

3) I'm not going to fool with the content unless Keith flakes out and doesn't deliver. No sense spending time on it if he is doing a complete re-write.

4) Didn't we just go through the whole membership vs Toyota ownership thing? I think it's important that we stress on the web that all brands are welcome to join us. At meetings and on the trail. In the long run it pays off to be hospitable.

Juggling a lot of things at the office this week, but working that intro content over is a priority for a personal deadline of Friday.

I appreciate everyone contributing to the discussion about how we represent ourselves to the rest of the world. We get a better understanding what this club means us personally as well.

The healthy discussion here helps me organize content, determine how much time to spend on the important stuff, as well as tell folks how and where to get more information mentioned on the intro page.

Please keep the suggestions rolling in. I'll get my first draft to Rusty TLC Dan by Friday. Hopefully we'll (I mean everyone) have the weekend to read it, critique it, edit, and with enough luck and time rewrite in time for the Tuesday meeting — where we can do it all over again. But with pizza and beer.

Keith

P.S. I don't flake, I bail. Totally different, — as the Tahoe dating scene has taught me.

The differentiating factor between the two is the person who bails, calls right before your night's engagement to let you know you aren't interesting enough to spend dinner and a movie with.

The flakes just never show.

Term that bridges the gap between the two: Undependable.

Some people use the phrase "spaced it," as in "Sorry bro, I totally spaced it."
This is most frequently used by employees who flake on deadlines.
It is more than appropriate for managers/supervisors to use the same phrase when flaky employees inquire why their paycheck never arrived.
"Sorry bro, I totally spaced it."[/quote]

BRILLIANT!
I love that response!!!

Can somebody bring a laptop to the meeting tomorrow so anybody that hasn't seen the new look can have a peek?

I can bring my tablet PC...are you going to have the image on a memory stick?

I think there is an open wireless connection, IIRC Mike was able to log on with his laptop one time.

BTW I'll cut and paste Keith's text into the site this morning.

Edit: New text in place.

Nothing beats a Jesus on the dashboard. Except... THIS :princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess::princess:

Nice work on the text. I think its a bit long but does give a good feel of what we strive to be.

Well, I don't care if it rains or freezes,
Long as I have my plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
Through all trials and tribulations,
We will travel every nation,
With my plastic Jesus I'll go far.

CHORUS
Plastic Jesus, plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
Through my trials and tribulations,
And my travels thru the nations,
With my plastic Jesus I'll go far.

Have you ever heard Tom Waits' "Chocolate Jesus"?

OK...I'll bring my tablet...as long as we will have internet connect should be OK.

I'm bringing my laptop along as well. I can at least call up the photos from the Steamshovel run, if anyone's interested. Also, been e-mailing Tom Kaderabek at Toyota Trails about getting something in the magazine. As predicted, we have a battle of dueling copyrights. TT has its rules, my company has its rules. So we're working toward the middle.

As far as Dashboard Jesus goes … that model Dan found is the Buddy Christ from the 1999 movie Dogma. If you haven't seen it, you probably have a life. But picture comedian George Carlin as a New Jersey priest who wants to give Catholicism a more people friendly image, get away from the doom and gloom. His concept … the "Catholicism WOW!" campaign, featuring Buddy Christ. He's your pal, striking the classic "Isaac" pose from The Love Boat."

I don't know which is funnier, Buddy Christ or Carlin as a priest …

All I know is I HAVE to HAVE one!
That is THE BEST!

Okay, I think you need to lay off the :princess: smilie, I'm starting to worry about you. :flipoff2:

Yeah, the site took longer than it should have, once this forum took off I felt a lot better about changing it. I'm glad you like it.

I'll look into the buddy Jesus thing.

We actually did a lot of club business. I won't spoil the suprise, you'll have to wait for the minutes.

New version wit downloads page. The only download at this time is the run waiver (Thanks Dan.;) )

Question: As we add more pages the navigation menu across the bottom will be limited. Would you guys rather have the Navigation Menu in the left sidebar?
