I just got off the phone with Warn winch and wanted to pass along some tidbits in case you didn't already know. This is a case of a square peg going into a round hole type of concept. I have a M8000 and M10000 winches with the round 5 pin connector on the control box. Warn says that we can take their p/n 90287 wireless jobber and plug it into any 5 pin round plug on the side of the control box (contactor style or solenoid style).

The person on the phone was laughing when I asked her to confirm this concept after she replied with my inquiry, and she did.

So, now I'm wondering if another brand of wireless winch controller with the D shape plug will work on a Warn winch. Maybe some of you have already done this, and if so, let us know please.

thanks.

Not sure about the question, but here is the pinout of the standard Warn solenoid controller on my M12K.
This is the top view looking at the connector on the solenoid housing. 100 years ago on my 91 FJ80 I added a dash cutoff switch to prevent stupidity.

Thanks for the pic as it'll help others I'm sure. I did the remote winch control using the factory antenna up/down thing, but I was simply curious if anyone is using the Warn 92784 to control their old Warn winches with the 5 pin connector.

I installed a warn winch on my truck last year. The controller was a D plug with wireless ability. I wanted a smaller box and installed a non wireless controller with the same D plug. The cable that came with the wireless would not operate the non wireless contact relays. Two different pin outs.
