Starting the search for an 80 series. If you guys see/hear anything in your travels, please let me know. I'll consider most anything, especially if it has the magic dash button. Email/PM/text etc... Its wheeling season and time to get back into a wagon.
Thanks!

Now you're competing with my wife! She's on the same mission 😆

I think there were a couple 80's kicking around the Squamish area a couple months back. Oh and i still have a Puma compressor on my workbench with your name on it... and that i forgot to get back to you on! LOL
I will talk to my buddy with a double locked fzj80, been sitting for a few years all moldy inside.
Cool! I'm used to moldy trucks, my Dodge yard truck has a leaky rear window with puddles in the back seat area every time it rains.

Hdj81 boosters work great in 40s btw. Just make sure all your passengers are belted in… I’ve even got harnesses for both my dogs (even though the 40 isn’t on the road.

I’ve never driven one… but good luck with your search. How does the :princess: feel about RHD? I’ve heard rumours that some partners don’t enjoy it.

I’m sure, given your skill set, you could always move the wheel to the other side.

Hi Rigpig! No worries. We looked at a RHD 5spd 1HDT in Whistler about six weeks ago that ended up in Victoria (we were 2nd on the list)... that one was primo! There was one in Squamish that I spoke with the seller about when I happened to run into him in a local parking lot. It was a bit rough for my wife, and a little too mucho dineros for the condition it was in. So the search continues... atleast it's a fun search!

Factory super charged hundy parked for years along with his triple locke 80 sereies and he is content to watch them become dirt? Both were my trucks at one point brought up from California.

@Rigpig There's a 93 HDJ81 on facebook in Cowichan Valley. Not sure it's locked....

I am the 3rd owner and I know the two previous owners thus I know the entire history of it. It is in spectacular condition inside and out. It is very clean with no rust at all and has been diligently taken care of. It’s a rare truck in that it came from the factory as a camping “Active Vacation" version so had the sink, water, and bed in the back. Due to a change in the insurance structuring in Japan the previous owner removed all that stuff. You can see that it has the sliding rear side glass. Other than the vacation package trucks the HDJ81V had one piece glass. Unfortunate reason for selling…. returning to Japan.

Yeah that's a beauty truck!!!

Looking closer at pictures on facebook, it looks like some of the rear undercarriage had some rust that was painted over. Not a big deal I suppose. Truck is very clean otherwise though. I'd probably take it back a bit closer to a stock look with some more practical rims if it were mine....

Cheers guys. Well, now it seems I'm all naked and afraid....ie. Cruiser-less. First time in about 20 years. Stings a little bit..lol. I knew when I loaded it into that container that it was going to be a one way trip. Loved this truck.

So who did it go to? Anyone we know on here? Next time bring back a decent Troopy so I can upgrade.
How did the dogs take it?

Glad you found a buyer quickly. On the bright side, this leaves the stable (in Japan) open for new opportunities. Bring back a HZJ76 next time maybe? I'll be standing by with cash in hand :) . Anyhow, either way, best wishes as you head back to Japan.

Cruiserpilot.... I'll let him let everyone know. I don't know about bringing any more Cruisers back over here. I went on Carsensor today to look at the prices and holy shaite the prices are stupid for any model of the 80s. 70's have always been ridiculous but even they are up. You guys better save your nickels and dimes for anything newly imported. lol.. Dogs are pissed...have to slum around in a 98 Nissan Altima til we go....lol
