Looking for a clean FJ40, prefer 1976 to 1982, but will consider earlier years. Don't mind paying for shipping, especially from states that don't salt roads. Would like it primarily rust free and with a 2F, not intrested in SBC. Dosent need to be a museum piece, and I don't mind it needing mechanical, upholstery, wiring or paint work. 76fj40

I have a 76 fj 40. It needs some work but is mechanically sound. The 2f motor needs a new distributed. Has a 6 inch lift. The front axel and driveshaft are out, but I have all the parts. It does need a top, although the soft top will get you by for a while. I have original ambulance doors and spare tire mount. As well I have the original rims with bias ply tires. This was my project last year, but my interests have turned to a newer fj cruiser... Anyhow, I can make a great deal on this one, and would also deliver with you covering fuel costs. I'm located about 30 minutes from nc and 8 or nine hrs to Chicago... I will take pics tomorrow if either of you is interested.

I know a guy who has an 80 fj40, zero rust, free float rear axle with cable locker, arb up front, arb bumper with warn winch, soft top, OME lift MAF shackles. It needs a little work. 2 years ago he was driving it in the snow and heard a loud pop, lost power to the axles either in the trans or transfer and parked it in his yard. He also has a jeep rubi so he hasnt gone back to work on it but its super rust free, like zero. I bet you could pick it up for 3500 maybe 5k tops. Ill give you his number if you are serious.

check out aqualoo.com they make replace ment tubs buy a cheep one that runs then buy a tub from them. then that solve your body work with a perfect aluminum tub that will never rust.
