Hey All,

I've done some digging and so far only found scan gages and other, non stock switch location fitting voltage meters. Does anyone make a voltage meter that fits into stock dash switch locations?

I bet with a little trimming you could get it to fit in a stock location. Gamiviti made these awhile back, I think @bhicks make something similar now. I did have to special order a green one though.

It's not digital, but my '95 has a voltage meter just above my fuel gauge. It looks a LOT like it belongs there.

I agree. Voltage, while important, I wouldn't think is critical enough to take up two places on my dash. It really doesn't tell you anything other than the overall health of your battery and charging system. The stock gauge seems to do that fine.

And, if you're not making 12v, that 12v LED will probably be pretty dim. Making it no better than an idiot light.

...but the digital display is cool enough that voltage is one of the things I have set to display in "Torque", when I'm using my OBD2 reader.

I agree, I've never seen the need for a voltage readout on any of my other vehicles outside of the factory one. Even when I was running a 4k watt stereo for competitions back in the day. The stock gauge and dimming lights were enough to tell me what was going on lol. The real reason I want one is for my second battery, there's really no way around that without an extra gauge

Have you ever been able to get any egr pids from torque? I can get egr temp and a some other egr parameters with my SnapOn scanner. I can get a lot of other pids from it as well. It's just to big and made for diagnostics.

I don't have a second battery, I suppose monitoring that isn't a bad idea. But still a digital readout would just make me paranoid. "Oh! why did it just drop 0.2v?"

Slee has a circuit board with two RGB LEDs that fit in a switch panel. They will give you the overall health and charge status. Spendy tho, could be worth looking into a DIY if you were so inclined. Slee - Battery Related Products

Ultimately, you already have something on order it looks like. And it's your truck to do what you want. Good luck.

Regarding the Torque app, I have not messed with any custom PIDs. I would very much like an EGR status, other than my check engine light... Also adding an external oil pressure and trans temp PID would be ideal. Maybe we should PM offline, or start a Torque App. I will let you initiate the conversation @Rivman1243

I like redundancy and an always-on digital, numerical readout when I camp and test the reserve limits of my group 31

Have an antigravity starter if the readout finally goes : )
