Also, the UPS rep said that he has no access to the weight log of the package along the route. However, I do see that the package has a weight on the original label of 12lbs, which is consistent with the weight of the VC. Of course, I believe that @slow95z sent the VC. But unfortunately we could not find out where the package ripped open. Again, I never asked for my money back, nor would I accept it if it is refunded ( I just checked, It has not been as of yet, holidays not withstanding). I am happy to do the deal again for yet another VC. How does that work for your spidey sense? I also ordered a transfer case a few weeks back from Valley Hybrid. Ii wanted the VC for backup just in case my mechanic was not squeamish about opening up the old one and putting the VC in. I wanted the limited slip differential as we get a lot of snow here, and did not want to have to throw a CL switch on demand. Thanks.
 
i said what i said and i wont change it. i sent a refund, the money has been taken from my account. it is a holiday weekend so give it time to process.

i am sure if you dig around you will find people here that dont like me or had a bad deal with me but i would be willing to bet 99% of the people here know i stand behind my word. i sell USED parts yet still offer a warranty on them, i do this part time at very low profit because i enjoy it and love to see people keep these trucks on the road and i never cheat people out of money. i work a full time job with long hours yet still find time in the evenings and weekends to pull parts off 30 year old trucks and ship them all over the world.

i never said you lied, i just find the whole thing off. the odds of ups sending an empty box, while not zero, are very low. I could understand if it was a PS5 or steamdeck but who would even know wtf they are looking at when they opened the box and saw a 12 pound metal cylinder with splines on the inside.

if you are unhappy then report me, block me, whatever. blowing up my inbox doesnt help.

I certainly dd not blow up your inbox. I sent you ONE message in response to your message on this thread about your "spidey sense". I'm actually not unhappy with you. As I said, in several locations on this thread, I trust you. I am sure you put the object in the box. It wasn't there when I got it. The box clearly fell open. I'm not even blaming you for not packing it well. I'm not going to accept a refund. I will send you the money back when I get it. But I do think you should do a claim search. UPS told me that I can't only the seller can. I was just surprised by your post warning others on this forum that something was " off"... " from the beginning". But Nothing was off. I was just , perhaps unnecessarily formal, or so respectful as to be considered odd, is all I can surmise, for why you would think that. I was genuinely grateful at the help and the reasonable price, which is what I sad to you , in your inbox, before we did the transaction. in my replies to you. So much so, that you thought I wasn't a native speaker of English! ( which is not the case). Clearly, the box fell open- I included pictures, dd you look at them? So, the odds that UPS sent an empty box, along the route- are actually very high! Because it happened! I just asked my UPS driver, five minutes ago, whether they measure the weight at points along the route. He said they do not. As said elsewhere in this thread, the original box weight was 12 lbs. So I am sure you sent it. And I would happily buy another one from you. I can absorb the $58 dollar loss. You don't need to refund it.

Unfortunately, UPS says they do not log the weight of the package at points along the destination. It started with 12 lbs, as it should. They weigh it once, and that's it, according to my UPS driver today.
 
In Mr. Datetree's (Teitelbaum's? clever, I like it) defense (my jokes are reserved for your mechanic), having experience in these giant sortation centers, when an item leaves the parcel, it usually won't be found with the box. I'm going with occam's razor here. Someone likely saw the slightly opened box and just taped it shut. Weight scales are usually reserved for the entry points into the system, these types of issues happen so frequently that they don't bother checking. In the words of Cosmo Kramer these big companies will just "write it off".
