Vinyl vs Carpet?

And if water gets under the vinyl, it may be a long time evaporating.

This.

I previously had a car with vinyl it, and a slight leak at the windshield. A few days after rain, the car would invariably smell like a troop of wet dogs were in the backseat, and the vinyl would have to be lifted to dry out.

Following along with this thread since I'm considering Rhino lining the interior of the already gutted cruiser. I was thinking of a vinyl mat or maybe even 1/4" rubber mat that I cut to fit the cargo area. Wrestling mat type material maybe? That way I can remove the mat to clean and dry it when needed, then I would just Rustoleom the interior floors and sides.

That will stink forever, I would never do that and what do you do with your wiring ???

Well I left windows open the first 24 hours and drive with them down, 3 days later no smell, I also used a Starbrite Car Bomb. Have you ever "lined" an interior???

About the "wiring" it's loomed and I just out plastic kick plates back on, you can't see 95% of the loom.

I just know, I have a bloodhound nose and it would give me a headache, and I have never lined a interior

I'd be interested in a vinyl kit for the 80. I really like the vinyl in my FJC when I had it due to ease of cleaning. I need new carpet in my 80 now and have been looking at options for replacing it with carpet but if there's an option for vinyl I'd probably go that route.

Just hang about 100 Pine Trees off your rear view!!!!
But seriously ask others that have lined as well, yes its potent while applying and 2 days later but after that it levels out. The Starbrite Car Bomb, Kool It condenser clean and , AC Clean sprayed into fresh air intake made. It smell almost "too" clean.

That's what I did bought a Motor Trend 1st and 2nd row mat set that were huge! I had to trim a lot to fit, (Wich is good) you literally only see the Herculiner on transmission hump and rear fender wells. I found a huge SUV cargo mat that was 58"x 46" that goes all the way under second row. Problem solved, Total for mats on Amazon $63.
