I then glued the edges of the seat back to the plastic form.

Bungee added and glue dry.

Final result. Very happy with how they turned out. Now I just have to create some sort of electrical shock system that punishes anyone who actually tries to use them as pockets. :bang:

Looks great. Mine are saggy and probably need to be addressed. Your truck does look very clean, your interiors looks much better than mine!

It's a quick, fun project and I think it makes the back seat look a lot better. I'll never use them but I'm happy the sag is gone!

I was pretty thrilled with the interior when I first viewed the truck. I think the 2nd owner (who drove it nearly 200k) just cruised it on the highway solo or with a front passenger. The seat bottoms on front seats were probably the most worn thing on the truck and they had been replaced prior to me purchasing it. I think I've had more people in the back seat than the previous owners!

I’m sick of seeing mine the same way. Lol...it’s gonna happen someday.

Decided to give this cheap dent removal kit a try in an attempt to fix a couple larger dents on some of the body.

Honestly, it worked fairly well. It helped me take my "large and noticeable" dent to a "present but hard to see" dent. I wish I had measured the dent prior to fixing it.

This is the most significant rust on the vehicle. It sits right above the windshield on the driver side. It is about 2 inches long.

I still haven't decided what my best way forward is. As a Colorado truck, it barely gets any moisture, so I'm not sure how worried I should be about it spreading. I really don't want to spend over $1,000 that could go to other important things like a new steering rack.

Any advice or experience with this is appreciated.

Early this year, the TLC got a more refined sibling!

Moved my wife from a Subaru Forester to a GX 470. It's a 2004, 190,000 mile, one owner, dealer-maintained beauty. The owner had just spent a bunch of money doing all the big stuff at 180,000 when the air suspension failed shortly after. I think that was the last straw for him, since he traded it soon after. The small dealer who I got it from bought it from the dealer and immediately performed a traditional suspension swap (something I would have had done right away). Felt good grabbing this one at a good price with thousands of dollars of maintenance done within the last year.

Such a fun alternative to the 100!

Noticed a small pool of coolant under the TLC and saw it dripping from a driver side radiator bolt.

Tried to collect any that dripped over a week. This is all I got. Nothing major but a good reason to look at the radiator.

The radiator was cracked so I got it replaced along with a few hoses.

Great! I really have been considering getting my wife in a GX, they're just unbelievable inexpensive. She drives close to 200 miles a week though, so her 25mpg tiguan has been nice...May just need to get one as a third vehicle!

Glad you got the rad replaced before it burst on you! Mine just let go one day.

Finally removed the running boards. Wish I had done it sooner. Such a cleaner look. Eventually I'll be getting some step sliders. Have been eyeing the ones from Bump It Offroad for a while.

Yeah, early GX prices are unbelievably low. Honestly sickening for such a great vehicle. I wanted to avoid factory nav which made the search challenging but I was thrilled when I finally found the one. As for fuel efficiency, my wife's has been getting about 16 mpg (80% city driving). A 100% highway tank gets us over 20 mpg. The low cost of fuel helps me not worry about it! I consider the extra fuel spend the tax for driving such amazing vehicles. I'm so happy we went to the GX. I love it and so does the wife!

Even though the TLC radiator was only slowly leaking, I didn't want to be in that "emergency" situation. Just a pain to deal with.

Hmmm much better mileage than the LC...thanks for that info. I have found some 150k mile trucks in great shape in the $8-10k range down here in Texas....total soccer mom cars so they are in pretty good shape.

Believe me, be glad you did the radiator because I didn't enjoy the feeling of sitting on the side of I35 in Temple, TX, 3 hrs from home with a blown up radiator.

Haha. Yep, you just described the hypothetical situation (but insert remote Colorado mountains in place of Temple) in my head that motivated me to just do it.

We picked up our GX for $8700. Considering the amazing history and that all the big stuff had just been done, I was happy with the price.

I love my LCP Mud Flap Eliminators. Especially since my mud flaps were destroyed.
