So, as said, it turned out to be an incredible trip. Definitely an area worth revisiting. It was clear that very few people go up there, and those that do are on quads. Didn’t look like a full sized vehicle had been through in a long time. The trail was fun and technical with a few pucker moments where a wrong move would be the end of you. There there was basically no windfall.
Took us a few hours to get in, but much less to get back out once we knew the trail. The lake was hands down the nicest one I’ve been to on the Island. Very clean, beautiful, pristine. No one else was out there except for a couple guys on quads when we first arrived. They were very surprised we had driven trucks in there. Had the lake to ourselves the whole rest of the time. Not much room to park trucks in there, so it was good there were only three of us. It's hard to put into words how cool the place is.
The trucks all ran well. We had basically all the equipment we needed. It's almost strange how well this trip worked out given all the unknowns.
Here are some of the pictures I have with notes:
Meeting at Serious Coffee on Saturday. Had an extra cruiser come out just to say hi.
Rob leading the way, pushing the 3B hard.
Getting ready at the bottom of the trail.
