Glad to hear you can make it!

Would my little camper make it into the lake area?

Probably not, but you could try? Would be a drag to have to leave it somewhere though.

I don't know, have to see what Nick thinks. But according to the KLR rider blog, it might be a push. Probably get it into
Kunlin Lk, after that.....?

I think cruiserpilot is probably right. I was half tempted to bring my trailer into Kunlin for one night of sleep in comfort, but I wasn't comfortable with the idea of leaving it parked alone when we took off to Donner.

I'll be sleeping in chalet LJ78 I think, ahah.

If you don't bring a trailer, do you have a tent?

No tent, could borrow one tho..or curl up in the back of the 42...

I have a nice tent, unfortunately the no see-um netting got buggered, but I wouldn't expect bugs to be an issue.
You can use it. 4 season freestanding tent.
That reminds, if the weather looks ugly, I have a 30x40 tarp and rope for covering common area in camp.
And it's redneck camo of course. :hillbilly:

I've got three tents, a 2 man a 4 man and a two room 10 man I think. All are pretty new. You could borrow any one of them if you want. They all have rain covers and intact netting. I'll be throwing one in the back of my rig as a spare regardless.

Thanks boys...

Thought I'd bump this as the date approaches. Anyone else interested in joining?

Johnathon is getting back two days before we leave so no pre trip....

I figured it might end up that you guys wouldn't have time. I wouldn't worry about it. I think the biggest problem will be windfall. So as long as we are prepared with saws and safety gear for cutting we should be ok. Hopefully it won't be too bad... And if it is, we'll just go explore other stuff north and west of gold river. Lots more to see up there.

I've got a small 2hp boat motor I'm tempted to bring for the tin boat at Donner. I'll have chainsaw gas anyhow, so it's not much extra inconvenience. I wonder what the chances are that little boat is still there and 'lake' worthy? Would be nice to run down to the other end of the lake or something while we are there. Not sure if motors are even allowed on that lake tho (that said; who's gonna know? :hillbilly:). Could bring an electric also...(friend has one I could borrow). What do you guys think?

I guess it would be up to you, kind of a big thing to pack for such a short usage. Depends on whether we go fishing for a day,
or just have a visit and find back roads to burn diesel on.
I will still try to remember paddles for the canoe. I've managed to get home a day early, so should have enough time to actually
be organized.

Psst....it's a lake dude. :flipoff2:

"there is no better bilge pump than a frightened man with a bucket" ----so bring some.

Fixed...:smokin:

Yeah you're right. Should just focus on burning diesel. Motor might suck bouncing around in the back of the cruiser. We'll rely on paddles in the case we want a short outing. That said; my motor takes less space than paddles, but paddles would be needed as a back up anyhow.

Of course, cause back at camp at night with the drinking and the BS that's gonna flow, we'll need a shovel! ;)

Going to bring a small portable BBQ grill and propane, and 2 burner coleman for all to use.

Heh, thats funny. I was going to pack exactly the same. Maybe I'll leave my grill then and just bring my two burner stove. No hurt in having an extra stove.

Looks like I may not have time to get my winch mounted up for this trip. Hopefully that won't be an issue. Truck is pretty capable and I've never needed a winch yet; but then again I've been careful not to get myself into something I didn't think I could get out of. Rear locker usually does the trick when things get dicey.

No locker, two winches. We'll follow Rob...

ok i'll start the ball rolling on my end. this sounds like a blast, the furthest ive been up the island is campbell river. ill see if i can ralley up a few more rigs too.

Is your BJ42 olive ? If so did you get it in Cedar..? Saw one there years ago for next to nothing, should of purchased it for under 2K..I climbed all over that rig, far as I could see it was a factory color?
