Looking for something truly unique for your FJ60/FJ62? You have found it with this set of NON-US Spec, New Old Stock (NOS) barn doors. Outside of the US/Canada, 60/62 series come with vertical barn doors instead of the upper hatch and lower tailgate. These replace your hatch and tailgate.

Included in this package are:
  • set of NOS barn doors
  • set of old barn doors that have the hinges on them. these are rusty and only the hinges should be used
  • the buyer has a choice of rear windows: either a set of clear glass (no defrost grid) or a set with the defrost grid. Note the defrost grids are not tested/guaranteed
  • if the buyer wants, they can have the rear tailgate section, see the pic. This is very rusty but would useful as a template to drilling your holes into your body. Shipping this item will cause the price to go up drastically as this is a large item. This is an optional item
Price is $975 + shipping, please contact us if you want to purchase this item

Very...

Do you know for a fact that the opening is the same as a hatch/gate truck and only attachment points (hinges/latches) would need to be drilled?

Would you remove the "good bits" from the rusty doors to save shipping the rust? Would you cut up the rusty frame and send only the important "reference point" parts?

Thanks,
mark

mark- I am 99.9 percent sure they are the same. It wouldn't make sense for Toyota to create different 6x shells. I really don't want to cut up anything, the as the buyer could use these items. Plus I dont want the responsibility if something goes wrong, these are rusty parts and I am sure the bolts will need some cooperation for removing them. Plus, you really need the "frame" to determine where the measurements to drill in should be. As I mentioned, this is optional, maybe a body guy could do without them if they were good enough- I'm not a body guy though. I would strongly recommend getting it though. I dont think it would be that much more for freight.

Are you still able to get a set of barn doors?

I couldn't find one that was already in the U.S. or the spec I like for less that $48k so... I bought a running/driving fj60 for $5k and have been dailying it. I figure if I dump some money into getting barn doors and converting the rear hatch area to work with them i'd still be under 20k and have the rig I want 😆 yes, this does include stripping down, body work, painting and all that.

I just wanted to see what Jason would say after 7 years. I’ve got a 62 and I could see barn doors being an interesting addition, especially for less than $1000.

I would assume it would be more that $1k at this point buy hopefully not like... $5k 😆 or if it is better to buy in bulk like 5 sets I could do that and then help people out state side if others like it or have interest. Idk, not exactly what i'm trying to do but I do love having spares. I might be a hoarder. 😆
