Getting ready for sliders and rear carrier bumper..What's up Scott.. You ready to do some Fab work? Matt seems to be MIA???

Yeah, I'm down for whatever. I talked to Matt a couple weeks ago. He's doing fine. He's been working his truck to get it ready to wheel.

If you really want a full price list you can look off of Proffitt's website. They list what one of their conversions runs:

I am in the process of a 6.2 diesel conversion (considered the 4bt strongly but then a 6.2/trans/adapter fell into my hands and I had to do it. Anyway, I am in the process of modifying my factory auto shifter to work with the 700r4, just wondering if anyone has done this and has any words of wisdom?

So, did you ever finish the 6.2 conversion?

5-10K???You just have to be resourcefull and take your time. That and watch all the little things that add up. If it wasn't for the outrageous prices of the 4BT the swap would be darn near free by the time you got rid of your original engine and tranny, or in my case make a few bucks.

I'm going the 6.2L route in my FJ just becuase it was better than free.

4bt in my 56 f-100....Taken me a year (complete tear down) but I'm about ready to drop the engine in if I can get one for a reasonable price.

Thank you for the thread. This is a darn clean job. Would like to hear how the Veg conversion went down. I've been running Veg for a few years but in Mercedes and Powerstrokes.

Not finished yet but getting really close. The engine is in and most everything has been addressed. I am going to install the accessories and the radiator tomorrow. I had a great discovery today, I was wondering which route I was going to go with a cooling fan. I was told I could modify the toyota fan clutch so I held it up the 6.2 water pump and it was close. I have a military 6.2 and was changing the military pulleys to civilian ones when I noticed the water pump has 2 sets of holes. I held the toyota fan clutch up to the pump again and the second set of holes line up like it was made for it! I filed out the holes on the pulley now I can just bolt the Toyota fan clutch up the the 6.2 water pump!
I am going to post some pictures and add to my thread (6.2 conversion begins) later tomorrow night.

Started this yesterday on Jay's 4BT Cruiser. Hitch is 2x4 .250 wall, tied to the frame in several different ways since he tows his boat with it.

The spindle for the carrier is an Iron Pig spindle. Pretty stout, and I plan to gun drill the top and double shear it.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but what did you guys do for a battery hold down? I pulled the stock battery box out (good riddance, I hated that thing) and was going to make a plate that taps into a few mounting holes, but I was wondering if a ready-made mount plate exists, or how you got it done...

Thanks...
