I don't want to sound cheap or anything, but if anyone has a 135 valve cover, and a 155 valve cover that they want to get rid of, I'll pay for the shipping to get it up here. You see...I want to cut out the oil filler on the 155 cover and add it to the one 135 cover, so that I can try to pop it on the 155 currently in my '64...unless someone can figure out an easy way to ship a whole F135 my way, then I'll take the whole engine...problem is that shipping is too expenisve...which sucks because someone already offered me a 135...and all I have to do is drive across this continent to pick it up :crybaby:

The F155 filler is much to wide for the top rib of an F135 valve cover.

And I think you would offend the cruiser gods in the process.

Ya, I am sure I am going to have to make some kind of thingamajig to get it on...that's why I am not too keen on paying top dollar seeing as how I have to cut two covers to try this.

As far as the cruiser gods...they should go after the guy who put the 155 into my '64, I'm just trying to make it look right until I can get a '63 to '64 135 up here.

or just take out the breather and put in a 1955-1964 chevy oil filler breather...it has stamped on top oil...cut out a 1 and 1/4" hole ? use a nice rubber grommit and use this:
Chevy Oil Filler Cap, Vented, 1955-1964

see pic :)

i kinda like older reproduction parts for mods...such as this if oem is impossible to make work...kinda like a mod somebody would have done in 1964....then again who would be doing that to a nice new valve cover in 1964

or even cut out a hole and use a grommet the same size as an oem oil cap with the threads sanded down ....sooo it will fit into the grommet like chevys do...they are just snug fit push on oil caps.

Now if I can find a cover, I can try either or...just don't feel like spending more that a few bucks and shipping...just in case it doesn't work out. Someone has got to have one of these taking up space on their shelves

You could just get an old oil filler tube and weld it onto your sideplate, wouldn't look too bad if done right.

Would look nice :hhmm:... I would have to ask Shane to make me a 135 looking decal, but to write 155 on it ;)

So now I would have to find a side plate for a 155, a filler tube, and a valve cover...anyone?
