US Army Cots: Your Opinion Wanted

ive slept on the cots quite a few times while i was in the army..

they are nice, but one thing for sure is youre better off on the ground with an airmatress when its cold

being up in the air.. even in a modular tent with a yukon stove is a good way to get pneumonia, especially if theres a draft.
 
Better than any other cot I've used and a lot better than closed cell foam or a thermarest on the ground. Keeps the bugs snakes and other creatures out of your sleeping bag.

They can be hard (requiring better than average strength) to set up. So test set up each one before buying. (the difficulty varies by individual cot).

My experiances with air matresses is that they don't help much when its cold either. I would go for foam if you are dealing with cold weather.
 
I've gotta admit, I like that Cabela's setup. Might just have to look into one.
