Ordered today, exchange is a bit higher today through PAYPAL, (who charge for exchange apparently) so shipped cost was about $308 for black powder coating. Still a great deal for this group buy. Thanks Sleepycruiser.

Received mine today....now I get to stare at it until I can find time to install.
Can you post after install picks. I appreciate the pics you showed earlier but was looking for a clearer pic empty space especially under the center support bracket.

Thanks.

Ordered mine this morning. I haven't had carpet on my tailgate for years so I'm excited to have something easier on the knees when climbing up there.

Ordered the marine carpet 80 series version this morning. It came out to $330 USD. Still a good deal.

Does anyone know what color the “Marine carpet” is?

@sleepycruiser thanks for setting up the group buy and managing it. I would be interested in all of the items you mentioned as well as the seat adapters they have advertised. It would be great if they made the adapters for popular US seat swaps: bmw seats, recaros, corbeaus, etc.

Group buy at 19 this time around. Not sure when/if there will be another group buy, but if anyone didn’t get in on this one, just post in this thread and if there ends up being another one I will let you know!

Absolutely.
Really appreciate the help. Curious to see it cutting some of the center bracket will facilitate storing a small rifle. Would love to use the space for an AR. I have an 2005 LX470 so with its reverse lights within the tailgate + the center bracket blocking long items it may be impossible. Crossing my fingers.

I'm aiming to install this weekend.

Here's a few pictures of the install and final. There is space for a rifle, but like you said, you'd have to cut the center brace a little or remove it. I have a few pictures of the tailgate cut so you can see how much room is available; with the new door on it makes it seem like there's not much room but there's a decent amount in there. The reverse light enclosures stick out a bit, but they don't ruin the system. I had a Wagon Gear tailgate storage for my FJ62 so I was excited to get this for my LX.

I do have a couple of issues with mine. The main issue is with the latches; I cannot get them to latch closed when installed. They will close until I mount them. I removed the rubber surround to get more room but still nothing. It's like the door and carpet lining are just a bit too thick or something. I'm sure I'll get it figured out but it's frustrating right now. Also, the plastic tray that folds down to span the gap between the tailgate and rear deck hits the tailgate door hinge gap and gets stuck, so you can't raise the tailgate without manually raising the plastic flap first. I'm thinking I can bevel the plastic a little bit to mitigate this. But still, it's frustrating.

Cut out and open to see the available room.

Thanks so much for the detail pics. It is exactly what I was wanting to see.

I believe you need to install the included small round carpet sliders under the tail lift cover to ease closing. The first thread mention this.
Sorry I didn’t reply earlier.
Yes they are carpet sliders similar to these.

I mounted them to the underside of the plastic hinged cover that slides up the tailgate when closed. They stopped it from catching on the carpet at the hinge. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now with good results.

I sure someone else will chime in on how to fix the laches.

Can you tell if the middle bracket can be removed easily to make cutting easier.
