Can you enlighten me on why the Summit Bar is not a real bull bar? Am I missing something or did you mean the Sahara. AFAIK, the Deluxe isn't offered for the 2016+, only the Summit which is based on the Deluxe from the <=2015 but incorporates the use of headlight washers, parking sensors, etc etc.
You are right, sorry, I was thinking of the Sahara Bar, which fine, but not what I call a full bullbar. Summit is good.

UPDATE:

Got the Rock Warriors back from powder coating! The guys over at 6651 Customs in Las Vegas did a stellar job. Some of the ring nuts needed some polishing so I used a dremel and some aluminum polish and buffed them up real nice. Ordered new center caps as well. Thanks to @Markuson our friendly neighborhood rock warrior dealer for 4 of the 5 wheels!

I will also be taking the rig down to the Toyota custom shop in town and have them adjust the computer to account for the larger tire size. This will help keep my speedometer in check (+5 mph at 70 mph without calibration), maintaining the odometer accuracy and also assisting with ABS and transmission shifting. Was quoted at 350.00 in case anyone was wondering. This was specifically for the 2017 Land Cruiser, I do not know if other 200 series years are covered but I can always ask.

I'm super pumped over how these turned out. Thanks to @Yeti White for the inspiration! You won't see them on the Nitto Ridge Grapplers until later this month once the lift and bumper go on. Doing it all at once.

I will also be taking the rig down to the Toyota custom shop in town and have them adjust the computer to account for the larger tire size. This will help keep my speedometer in check (+5 mph at 70 mph without calibration), maintaining the odometer accuracy and also assisting with ABS and transmission shifting.

Worth keeping the odo original if you drive a good amount of miles, IMO. The thousands of miles cheated from the odo with large tires could make a big difference come resale time, especially with a 2017.

Please say you were just kidding and not saying he should lie and cheat to screw over someone.

It’s definitely something to think about, no doubt.

@Sedalia A larger tire will report 4-8% less miles than actual, depending on size, which would make a significant difference in resale value if you do a good amount of driving.

I think these wheels look great when powder coated. I have thought about going with a silver powder coat for mine.

Hey @Union , that’s news to me that they can adjust for tire size in the computer. Interesting.
Did they happen to indicate whether they can only do it on 2016+? Curious...

Yeah, I got that. 90 weight in the crankcase and Bondo-ed dents help resale too. You said it was cheating the odo, but it really means you are cheating a person. Anyway, sorry to pollute this nice build thread but I had to advocate for the "high road".

They did not but I can give them a call tomorrow and find out. It’s a calibrated harness that gets wired into the computer that tricks the computer.

how much did it cost you to powder coat all 4? I have a set of rock warriors but it had some blemises, would love to powder coat if its not too pricy

560 for five so 112 for wheel and ring (which are done separately). They also took care of any minor surface scratches.

I called the shop at Toyota and they told me hypertech makes the speedometer controller for 2008+. I went on their website but couldn’t find the exact part so he must be looking somewhere else. He said he thought it sold for about 375 from the manufacturer.

FYI the 34" Nitto will fit in the spare location just fine. I have the identical tire size and mine does.

FWIW I think 285/75R17 is the perfect tire size. A little effort to make it work but not insane, and the wheel-to-tire height proportion is visually spot on.

Doesn’t seem to bad a price when they have to sand blast so many angles, smooth scuffs, and deal with 10 pieces including rings.

Plus...it looks like they did a BEAUTIFUL job.
Powder coating results are not automatic. I’ve seen crappy powder coating...great powder coating, and everything in between.

Those look even...no blotchy stuff...perty.

I’d love those on my truck, but I would probably chew them up...so I keep my thrashed ones on assuming I’ll beat them with the ugly stick anyway.

Agree.
Love my 35’s but next set will be just that.
285/75/17 is an inch narrower and just a hair shorter. After having already done all of the fitment tweaking to accommodate wider 35s… That size will be gravy.

Yeah one of the reasons I went with aftermarket wheels, aside from the lower offset without spacers was the ready availability of replacements. $219 for a new wheel if I chew it up badly and no need to get to a PC guy. RWS are purty tho

I think I could actually run a tire slightly wider without issue, but the tire height has a huge impact on interference with the KDSS arm and the sway bar on the passenger side. With all the sway bar link end bending issues I've seen here with the Slee kit, 34s are the sweet spot if you're not going for bragging rights.

FWIW I think 35s would probably look spot on with an 18" wheel. On a 17" they've always seemed a little meaty to me, like the wheel and tire should be split 50/50 on the total diameter (17" wheel, 8.5" tire height x 2). Personal preference, I guess. Admittedly if 35s were easy I probably would've gone that route though.

Just an FYI... I have the Hypertech on my Tundra because I'm running 35's, but on the LC with 285/70r17's my speedo is dead on with GPS.
