Damn, I just mounted my FX in same passenger seat location with quick-fits and tech-3 screws. Might have to jump in on this option.

^ this, Amazon sells a pack with 2 pairs of small, one pair of mediums and one pair show above for $26 shipped

So yes, you can do QuickFist, personally I'm just not a fan. :meh:

There will be holes for the QuickFist F.E. mount, just an FYI.

I saw it at the Marine store and it made me think of this thread so I just threw it up as a possibility.

Alright folks. In testing I found out I need to make a decision on this bracket. Currently it is designed so that the bracket will sit almost flush with the lower plastic valance under the seat when the seat is moved all the way back. If you are at least 5'11" this is likely already how you drive anyway. I'm a touch over 6' so I'm already desperate for more knee room. Now if you are shorter than 5'11" then you likely have to move the seat forward. If you do move it forward then it means the plastic seat valance WILL come in contact with the bracket. Now the bracket needs the height because the nozzle/handle of the fire extinguisher needs to be able to clear the floor.

Now I wanted the top shelf of the bracket because I have lots of ideas of what that area could be used for. BUT if I want to be able to move the seat forward, even an inch, it means I have to shave an inch off the top platform. Currently the top shelf/platform is 2" wide. This width gives it more purpose because now you can attach all sorts of emergency tools. If I remove an inch then you literally only have an inch to mount anything assuming you could. The width of a small QuickFist mount for a small flashlight is 1.375" so it means it would hang over. I am leaning towards NOT making the adjustment but I would like to hear from everyone that is interested or even kinda sorta, maybe maybe not interested as well. I'm going to decide within the hour so I would like to get everyone's feedback first if I could.

There red line shows where it would be cut IF I decide to go that route to accommodate the vertically challenged :flipoff2:

I'm also tall and keep the seat full back but I do occasionally move the seat forward for camping or extra storage space. I say cut at the red line. The whole point of the bracket was to mount an extinguisher. Everything else was going to be a bonus anyway.

I would hardly consider those under 5'11" vertically challenged. I've seen many times where wife's drive the 80 as well. Any design that doesn't allow for full range of the seat seems like a poor choice to me. I understand the the horizontal surface is a cool place to mount stuff but as huge as an 80 is I think sacrificing that piece to allow the seat full range is a small price. Also think of those who sleep in the back of their 80. The taller ones almost certainly need to slide both seats as far forward as possible to make this happen. In the end it's your product and your decision. I'm. It currently in the market for an item like this as I have loads of money still to spend on PMing before I can devote money to fun stuff like this. Just all my .02. Good luck.

AHHHHHHH!

I have a solution that I think will work for all and it will actually net more mounting space up top. Give me a few mins and I will post up the render.

What about dropping the top surface mount down and inch or so, so it slides under the plastic valance. You would end up with a "lip" on the fron which would stop items from sliding forward towards you feet if them come loose.

Subscribed. Interested. In. Etc.
I can test one for you in Portland because everything's totally different here.

Can't do that because then it drops all of the mounting holes for the extinguishers down and then nozzles and handles get impacted. Not all mounts allow you to rotate the extinguisher.

I say cut it at the red line. Flashlight and knife will have to be secured in the Wits' End Center Console Organizer.

Yes true...but I have more than one knife and more than one fleshlight....er I mean flashlight :flipoff2:

Soooo instead I am bending the top down 20º and extending it. Now it will be a larger surface and since its bent downward it clears the plastic valance by nearly 1.5". Not too shabby. So if you have to move the seat forward the now angled surface will be covered but that may be good because its hidden unless you move the seat back. If you already have you seat back then you have full usage of the area.

Nevermind all the random cuts and stuff, still need to get everything tied together. Now you can see the mounting surface that fits the NB300 perfectly along with any other F.E. mounting option. At this point if I missed a possible mounting option then it'll be time to take out your drill :flipoff2:
