Juuuuuuust so that I can keep you fence sitters a little more interested...

Came up with a Nylon pouch that will go on the inside of the F.E. Mount. It will likely stick on with velcro that will need to be stuck to the inside of the FEM-1 but thats the easy part. This will give you folks an actual pouch so that crap doesn't fall out or shift around too much. Locking lid is next up :grinpimp: because I now have in my position the dual-keyed-alike Medeco tumblers that I was waiting for.

Marbles...as long as I keep them all moving forward... :flipoff2:

I like it. I have been considering getting land tank extender so that I can the have full access to locking area and the height to move seat fully forward. How Hard Is The LANDTANK EXTENDER To install

Any more thoughts on going ahead with the FEM-2, or is the FEM-1 going to serve double duty?

I am still working it out in my head. My current thinking is as follows:

* send out the FEM-1 to those that ordered the FEM-2 if for any other reason to at least have a safe place place to mount their extinguisher. This is more important than the aesthetics.

* work with those that receive the mount to use on PS to see if there is a true need to go ahead with the FEM-2

* could make a small run (10?) of the FEM-2 and just let them sell out

* this drives up the cost of the metal work and welding since I wouldn't get the economics of scale

Thoughts?

I know, I know, I need to order one. I also need to get a fire extinguisher.

Hmmm....skip the FEM-2, I figured there would be a lot more market for this as well. What might make the most sense is to sell the existing stock and work on modifying your drawings so the FEMs would be mirror image.

Put me down for an FEM-1, I'll mount it on the PS. Best to order using the link for the website?

I think it is a great product and was about to order until I saw the gap with those of us running LT seat brackets. I'm on hold now waiting for updates on the top mount/lock box idea. I'm positive any solution you come up with will be better than anything I fab. Hoping you can simply rework your current inventory with the upgrade.

I agree a fem1 will work on ps side and I would be fine with that. If however you make a small fem2 run I would pay a little more, mainly my ocd problem and the mirror image effect. Stupid and no functional difference I know, just a mental thing I guess. Either way fem1 or 2 I still want one for ps side.

The lid and LockBox are coming, I promise ;)

Right now I'm at the hands of the metal shop because of their workload.

Well I will ship yours out along with the two other switches I owe you. Play with it and see what you think. I have the PS mounted with the FEM-1 and I see zero issue but I think that's because it's outta site so outta mind. I may still do a small run. Still on the fence. I may run them when my LockBox protos are being done. Will update.

No worries. I you do plan a fem2 run I'll wait, I'm in no rush at all. If not I'll do the fem1 thing.

I'll still send it. If I do the run then we will just exchange it. I could use the returned ones for further testing or give them to folks that don't have any money to afford it but still need safety because they haul around their kids. I'll work it out.

I started to read through all 21 pages again but got tired. Can someone tell me which fire extinguisher I am supposed to buy. I'm feeling really lazy. Thanks. :flipoff2:

Good, but not the best available (extinguisher is not Halon, but a Halon substitute) but much better than the dry chemical type. The H3R bracket however is VERY nice and stout.

Which "good" extinguisher to buy?

The Halotron one I linked from H3R is the "good" one. There are true Halon ones available, but I don't know if they're compatible with the H3R bracket, and Halon is more expensive. Halotron is a clean agent like Halon, but it isn't as effective (it reportedly takes more Halotron to extinguish a fire than it would Halon...)

I didn't want to "cheap out", but couldn't afford to go "all in" with the Halon, and I think the Halotron was a decent compromise.
