Not trying to bust your balls J, but the "stewards of the environment" image of Native Americans in mostly a myth. It began when the European settlers moved West and saw the destitute state of NAs at the time. The myth was mostly likely perpetuated by the guilt of killing them off and stealing their land. There are a lot of movies and romantic accounts portraying NAs as conservationist. It seems like the underlying theme of my scouting days was that Indians were environmentalist (and everything they did kicked ass).
However the history of NAs shows that they were anything but. Early NAs slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Buffalo taking only the tongue as a delacacy. Evidence also suggests that they often times hunted for the sport of it, leaving whole animals behind. NAs in the midwest diverted streams for agriculture. Probably the most ironic is that NAs would start gigantic forest fires for no apparent reason. Granted, I learned most of this stuff in an early American history class in college, but the evidence was very compelling

They do some pretty mid-evil sh!t to dogs in Asia before they eat them. I had some dog soup once. I was told that the pooch was put down humanely though. There's nothing more weird than walking by a restuarant that has a kennel in the back.
