The tub appears to be 79 or later. Also has the square bezel. Looks like it may be a South American truck. Power steering reservoir is on the passenger side. I doubt there's anyway to corroborate the miles. Interesting...

Looks like the one I traded my 55 to @davegonz for (except black), kept it for a couple of months and sold it to a guy that said he did all kinds of work on it an had an ad on CL in 2013 (still looked like the exact 40.. in that ad..) @arcteryx may remember this ad. Then I don't know what happened to it. Sure looks like it. Paint, seats, snorkel removal for when D and I had it..

It was a South America rig, if memory serves me correctly and had a '78 title and plates with everything else pointing towards a '79. I was going to keep it when I got it, but job and life happened.

I even bought a '79 scrap roller for the title and VIN plates in hopes to one day correct it.

The CL ad at the bottom says it was written by The FJ Company. @The FJ Company any word on this rig?

Definitely not one of ours. They used text from our blog, which unfortunately could lead some to think we built it. Thanks for the head up! We'll send a note to the seller.
