Trip Meter it Stops

A production date of 8/92 most likely was the start of production of the 93 model year and would have the 1FZ-FE.

FJ80 Speedometers are cable-driven. FZJ80 speedometers are electronic.

My tripometer works fine sometimes, doesn't work at all other times, part of it works on other occasions.

It will go along just fine for months at a time, then act up, then work again, no rhyme or reason for it that I can tell.

Probably a 'female' tripometer. Will work when it gets damn good and ready and won't when it doesn't want to.

I stopped poking my trip meter so it stays in one place. When I used to reset it at every fill-up, it started binding and causing the whole odometer to pop and bang.

Now the speedo and the odo work ok, just no trip meter.
