EDIT--We'll meet at 12:00 at the Sierra Nevada brewery in Asheville (about 250 miles) for lunch Friday, then to our campsite (additional 40-50 miles), just off of I-40 on the NC/TN line. The trails aren't too hard, even the stock trucks made it with no problem, and 1 or 2 water crossings. The campsites had restroom facilities, campsite cost was nominal, maybe $10 in the kiosk, honor system. The tent sites are about 20-30 yards apart offering some privacy. Most of the driving will be on gravel roads, going to waterfalls and other scenic hikes. The hikes are short and small children can manage it. As of now, we'll do something like on-your-own breakfast and lunch, group supper. Pets are also welcome. We'll probably leave early PM Sunday.

Due to narrow trails, we have to cap it to 9 trucks. If you're a LCLC member and want to attend, reply to the thread and I'll update this post with those attending. If we don't have 9 members, we'll open it up to UC and ONSC members.

Great trip ,if you haven't gone..

Haven't been. Figured I would ask what is normal activity like? Do we camp and stay put or setup camp then head out later and return? Just trying to understand from a RTT perspective :-)....damn I need a trailer. Club trailer build?

Also, how much pin striping? :-)

You will be fine . Probably could take a offroad trailer . A 2 wd truck could make it no problem.

Trail right off I40 then you go to campsites.

We have all the flexibility, but usually eat lunch on the trail and come back early enough to prepare supper. We had a lot of rain before I went, so you can see by the 2nd pic the mud could be deep. No pin-striping unless Erik's boy drags a can opener down the side of your rig to match your other pin stripe o_O

Gottcha. Will discuss with my travel agent but I think you can put us down. She has wanted to go on this. And we need to get back to Asheville even if it is just passing through. White Duck Taco on the way home?

Think white duck was gone the last time we went through.

This definitely sounds like a good one for me to bring the kids (or at least some of them) on! I've got it on my calendar

I'm not going to make any decision either way, I have a week of summer camp in June, so not sure how this will work.

If you don't fill up I'm in ,but let someone go that has not gone yet first.

This is where having an old cruiser comes into play. These longer trips are not fun. Now I remember why I bought and built the 100.

Brock is trying to sell his Hundy, you could be back in the game!

...and you didn't buy a pig to be a garage queen either. Jeremy has plenty of John Tesh cassettes to make the drive go by. Mark it on your calendar, you and the pig won't regret it.

ARGHHHH !!! The :princess: already has us booked for a summer trip.... Starting on the 4th :bang:

I have to see if this is set in stone. :censor: :censor: :censor:

Wanna buy it back? ;-). We are missing a truck something fierce (on the lookout for a FJ45) and I need a vehicle that gets better mpg...
